Ok, finally got round to finalising the theme for my IG. I’m afraid this post won’t be a well written story or a highly detailed fluff description but I would love some feedback on my ideas, if you guys think it will work!
I want to collect a fairly balanced IG army in both paint scheme and layout, check out my thread for pics of some of my guardsmen- commissar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=picpost&action=display&thread=14436 . I also love commissars, I like the idea of them and the models are awesome! So therefore I am going to try and include as many as possible. This also got me thinking, could my army be based around commissars? My thoughts are thus, my army is the personal force of a Lord Commissar, (can’t wait to get a one of those finecast models).
The 28th Commissariat Provost Force, Lord (something or others) Own
Help with the name please, overall what do you think? Mainly can someone help with the Lord Commissars name, I want something old fashioned and aloof.
Basically, like all commissars, my Lord is utterly devoted to the Imperium, almost a bit too much! He is a law unto himself and hunts down any trace of heresy and has worked with inquisitors from the Ordo Hereticus. Over the years he has gathered and commandeered various warriors and units to his holy causes, gradually building a bodyguard force and then his own private army that he uses ruthlessly to track down enemies of the Imperium. He has gathered many devoted Imperial Guard Officers to his side and they have structured his forces to function to Imperial Guard doctrine with access to the very best equipment. The force is balanced and well equipped to tackle any mission (I hope).
He offers his troops the chance to prove themselves pure and faithful to the imperial creed. The most dedicated are selected for 1st Squad where they undergo intense training and are used to spearhead assaults, those that survive and are deemed suitable are offered the unique opportunity to join the elite stormtrooper corps and then train as a commissar themselves. (this just gives me an excuse to paint up some guardsman in commissariat black dress uniform). The new commisars then serve in the CPF before being sent to other regiments or causes.
Anyway, thats the gist of my idea, all comments and critiques welcome.
