Well hello everyone, I haven't been on here in quite a while I have to say! I have just recieved my two Imperial cruisers in the post and Ive just cracked on with them I don't play BFG, I just like the ships and thought why not! The detail on these ships is fantastic and I'm really glad I bought some, I would recommend them to anyone. Enough of the talk, here's the pics of the first cruiser, still not quite finished though... Feedback would be appreciated Daniel

Glad to see some BFG love, even if you don't play The detail on the crusier looks great! Are you just painting up those two, or are you planing on having a whole fleet to put on display? Reds

Reds Thanks Red You never know, I may get in to the game soon enough I was only going to paint these two but after seeing what they're like I think i'm going to paint up a display fleet and here's some more pictures... The finish looks cool, though they are a little "homogenous" colour wise. That is the paradox of BFG ships though, detail, detail everywhere, and none that you can paint.
I did mine in a black and blue dazzle camoflage, which worked quite well, but was a bit of a pest to do. Could you perhaps pick out the bridge windows? Might even be an opportunity for some source lighting there, don't recall seeing that used before on BFG ships.

I know what you mean, but I chose to do them like this because it's how I imagine the Imperiums ships to be, dark and worn with only a little colour. I did have an idea of doing source lighting but the gaps in the bridge are just too small to paint in, I may give it a go though

I still got a whole fleet of necron vessels, my more older paint skills have been unleashed on metal with the result that I love your 2 cruisers. It's unfortunate I've only been able to use them 2 or 3 times in actual battle.

Wow, those look nice. The pics on the GW site don't do justice to how nice the model looks. Of course, the good paint job helps.

Yay for BFG models! I personally have a modest fleet, but sadly don't get to play BFG anymore due to lack of opponents I would strongly advise that you try having a game sometime - it's really quite easy to follow, is a nice departure from 40k, and is really fun!

Amazing detail, are they two of the same that you built differently or did you order two different types (the tower antena things and the midsection guns)?
I need to cheak how much money I have.

Nice I really like that spacey background and excellent finish you have their.
I got a 1500pt fleet of battlefleet gothic but I can't paint to save my life.

I'm quite tempted too Gabriel, maybe in time They are the pair of Imperial Cruisers on the GW website, you can make them into about 7 different types of cruisers but I modelled these the same as the two shown on the website , they're only £13.50 so they're quite cheap for what you get Thanks everyone for the kind feedback, I've just bought an Emperor Battlship which should arrive next week so expect an update soon

Interesting, I've just downloaded the rules, should be an interesting read, might see if I can get some people interested down at the local gaming club.

I have an Emperor Class battleship - lovely model, nice and effective in game... but a bit of a swine to put together. I left off the big statue thing on mine though - just wasn't keen on it...
I might have to post up my fleet thinking about it... they deserve some love from me...

I understand that the lager ships are metal, in which case I'm not really looking forward to building the battleship (I realised I ordered the Retribution class Battleship, not the Emperor). Should be here by tomorrow though

Thirteen and a half pounds for little pieces of pewter is cheap? Would you mind sending me some money?

You realize that's even worse if it's plastic...
Still, they're nicely made, and you've painted them well. Please update this when you get the new one.

Well hello once again Firstly, thank you all for the replies and glad you like the cruisers Secondly, the Battleship is here!!! However, despite my apparent happiness I will say this.......it was the biggest pain in the arse ever!!! As you can see its mostly metal, comes in about 12 main parts, and hardly any of them fit. After much filing and cutting I managed to assemble this....metal monstrosity, to an ok standard (trust me the pictures make it seem a lot more crooked than it actually is) Hope you like , its currently drying from the undercoat but hopefully there will be painted pictures up by tomorrow. Cheers, Daniel

Snazzy lighting from the engines, what metal glue did you use?
I just try and steer clear of metal if possible.

Nifty. And it seems it's not to scale with the others...
Probably a good thing for your sanity.
