Glad to see that you are still plugging away, I always like to see purple guard. How much of your army is painted now?
By the way how do you feel about how you are painting the boltgun metal bits?

Feel?..All right I suppose, nothing to it really; just chaos black on the frame, chainmail with boltgun metal with chaos black drybrushing over it for that wornish feel.
And..I got 2 HWS, 2 PCS and my CCS with 3-4 guardsmen done on the side on that colour pattern, I got 2 "typical" Cadian coloured infantry squad at my mother's house, just that they were done years ago and they are bascially blogs of skin coloured paint wearing clothing so not too good comparded to my current army.

I was just wondering because in one or two of the pictures (I'm mostly thinking of the rear view of the lascannon) it looks a little flat. Personally I found that a 50/50 mix of Chaos Black/Boltgun drybrushed with Boltgun, washed with Badab Black and then drybrushed again with Boltgun (a set up I borrowed from one of GWs paint guides) works quite nicely.

Yeah the HWTs were made first when I had little paint nor alot of knowledge, so they look a bit 'dull' also why I added that rusty look to them , give'em a little more style

Here's something new!
![[image] [image]](http://dark-heresy.wikispaces.com/file/view/sgt1.JPG/307722310/800x1096/sgt1.JPG)
I did not do the lining yet, should be done tonight with a nice mix of Catachan green with chainmail
Here we go, a bit blurry, and I ran out of battery, but it's there.

Hey, me again.
I painted a few troops which are on my wiki site (link in previous posts) then i took a break to make a mini for our Void-Master player in our Rogue Trader Game.
He started with a best quality cybernetic arm and, after a critical that left him handless, he bought another best quality cybernetic arm
I'm pretty happy about how he turned out, especially the camo on the pants

As someone who doesn't paint faces because he can't... I'm dead impressed by those faces! And everything else too of course but that's just what gets at me personally.

I agree, your skin tones are amazing! Are you using the GW paints, or do you use Vallejo?

Thank you.
I actually follow the 'old' technique found in the 'how to paint citadel miniature' book with a little modification. The book talks about 3 coat of paints for the skin; red flesh, dwarf flesh, highlights Elf flesh.
I use Calthan Brown, Tallarn Flesh then highlight Dwarf Flesh, leaving the gaps unpainted for a shadow effect. It gives a darken tone to the skin without the 'flash' red might have.

Ah right. It must just be that you're great at painting skin then! I know the Vallejo range has some lovely warm skin tones that's all Thanks!

Looks very nice!
Only thing i would change is his staff. Maybe paint the eye in the middle as a gem? would break up the gold 'block' a little.

Yeah: I though of doing that, but decided agaisnt in the end; I jsut might add this detail,as it's not that crazy whens eomone else is thinking the same"!
but first, I'll finish my Infantry Squad, trying a new speed apinting method; makes for horrible faces on the minis,, but good TT quality

I think the staff looks good as it is. Right now it looks like an actual conduit for power/lightning/whatever and not as piece of bling that someone would carry to battle to show off.
Also, as a side not; marvel at the logistics problems that arise when you design laspistols on one planet, and holsters on another.

Here is my whole infantry; got the HQ and 2 troops choice, missing a few other choice (like other special weapons) but I got the bare minimum to play now.
![[image] [image]](http://dark-heresy.wikispaces.com/file/view/allinfantry.JPG/353233580/1040x169/allinfantry.JPG)
Small I know, but I had no support and closer images was too blurry to be any good.

looks good, keep up the enthusiasm, I know a lots of people give up painting after a few guardsman, or leave their army half way finished, no basing etc. you are not in that catagory!

Here's a sentinel; nothing fancy mind you, it was an old one I made and primed but never painted from years ago when I did my Cadians. C&C always welcomed

Looking good add some high lights to bring out some of the features, around the cockpit and she'll be looking even better
I really like your Psykers and your cadian army, all in all looking good.

Yes it is Dark Angel Green; I wanted a green colour, but something different form Cathachan green or my own mix for my trooper's flak armour.
isn't Snot green the highlight colour for DA Green?
