Hi all, I'm relatively new, and although I found this website in August, I have only now, plucked up the courage to post my first squad amongst the master pieces that I have seen on these boards. Any way, here they are. I think this pic shows my colour scheme quite well. right shoulder pad left shoulder pad- square platoon 1st squad couple of lasgun troopers some more lasgun troopers..oh wait they're the same some more more lasgun troopers Ok I'm sure sure your sick of lasgun troopers but here are some more. With my first sort of conversion. vox and srg Close ups! Ahhhhh! Yes, I know, moldlines and finally a group shot. What do you think? C&C extremely welcome. Happyorange

Fantastic! I love the color scheme. No courage needed at all there mate, these hold their own more than adequately.

Very good work and a nice choice of colours. No need to be ashamed at all. Looking forward to see more of them.

thanks all for the wonderful compliments! Ignatius- I shaved them off just for a bit of variety, and because I might leave them on some veterans, like in command squads. I've been doing 40k for about two years now. I started off playing Ultramarines (please don't hit me) but i quickly saw the error of my ways, and so I bought the catachan battleforce... Enough of my life story, here's what I've got in the pipeline. my altered grenade launcher, even though in 40k, every weapon is huge, I still reckon that the cadian grenade launcher is much too big seeing as nowadays they can fit underneath assault rifles. So I tried to make it smaller and compact. I think this would fit in better in a drop troop army though. still some cleaning up to do on this one, like between the barrel and main body of the gun. Here's a minesweeper guy. I like giving some members specific roles although he doesn't do anything special in-game. ...and yes he can fire his gun one-handed. I am also in the process of painting Sentinel Criticism also welcome. Happyorange

I started off playing Ultramarines (please don't hit me) but i quickly saw the error of my ways, and so I bought the catachan battleforce... ULTRAMARINES! There is no redemption for the vile blueness! Only villains, scoundrels, knaves and scalawags of the basest sort cavort with the heathen sons of Gulliman. I guess that's why I still play them.

LOL
I am greatly impressed by skills after only two years. Hell, thats almost as good as i am now after close to 8 years (2 months away!)
Love the minesweeper!
I think its awsome that you go to the trouble of giving squad members special things even though they dont do anything. It must really give the army a sense of variety compared to others.....like mine

what parts you used to make your sarge's chainsword hand? i like it, i'd like to make one guy standing at attention, like a guard, and pose with such arm would please me:)
actually nice work, but honestly, helmets without aquilas look...a bit retarded. your painting is really good, as for this forum's standards, but i just can't look at your soldiers because of their helmet's. they're no IG for me. no more. sorry:)

I like the idea of giving each squad member a specific role, though it won't affect in-game it is still cool.

Thanks every one as always! jaxafett- It's just the grenade launcher firing arm. I find that if you position the sword right, it doesn't look like he's holding a pistol grip. actually nice work, but honestly, helmets without aquilas look...a bit retarded. your painting is really good, as for this forum's standards, but i just can't look at your soldiers because of their helmet's. they're no IG for me. no more. sorry:) I do sort of agree with you there. But only with the forge world heads. They seem to have been sculpted much thinner than the normal ones and the ear thingies (Do they actually have a use?) are much further set out that the plastics which does sort of make them look like people with huge foreheads and massive ears Anyway here's what I made the minesweeper out of if anyone was interested. I know most people could make a better one with better bitz but it was my first try and if i ever make one again it will be better. What's not pictured is the catachan vox. Took about two minutes on MS paint. In the process of painting the sentinel but I've already glued the cock pit and driver in, it's so hard to paint. Thanks again Happyorange
