To answer the poster: There is no easy way to create the greatcoats and hats of the Valhallans without either a.) massive greenstuff skills or b.) more time and money than God. Most of the conversions will wind up costing you more than the actual cost of the box. Just pony up and buy the blisters and ten man box (see ebay for cheaper models). That being said: there are some conversions that you can do with the existing model line. For example, there is no need to pay full price for a Valhallan voxcaster - just take the bits from the Cadian or Catachan command sprues. Or, if you a powerfist, take the chainsword hand off of the sergeant and replace it with a whittled down power fist from the cadian box. Joined: Apr 2009 Gender: Male Posts: 216 Location: Kanata, Ottawa, Ontario Re: valhallans « Reply #2 on Nov 8, 2009, 7:30pm » Yah I was really hurt by the prices of Valhallans but just by 2-3 maybe more Valhallan squads from the GW site, they really have the best price for the infantry, than the rest you can find on ebay. All the flamethrowers, melta guns, and heavy weapons if you watch yourself can be gotten very cheap, I have gotten flamethrowers for $4-5, heavy weapons I have seen sold ~8 dollars. Its all about timing and patience. If you check every week on ebay you will be able to get a lot cheap. You need to do a bit of chopping to get them to fit properly, but the results are worth it. Also Plastic is expensive. £15 for ten archers, then £12 for Cadians. If you have spare lasgun arms it helps saving costs - I had spare ones.
