Hi all, Thought I'd show you all my Vladimir Pugh mini as a change from all my Guardsmen. This is how I always pictured him; modest and reserved but still radiating authority with nothing more than a boltgun and a chainsword (even though it's a pretty big one). I've tried to create a rusty, ancient effect on the chainsword, but I'm not sure if it worked... What do you all think?

*Peter Griffin voice* "That's... AWESOME!!!" That is a really, really cool conversion of a Techmarine. The chainsword looks ace! I love the checkered effect on his cloak too. And the old style bolter is pure win!

One really nice conversion. Honestly I cant tell the difference between it and one that you can buy from Games Workshop.

Very good. The paint is very nice, though it was my understanding that Vladimir had a hammer, though I may be mistaken.

That's a common misunderstanding. As a dedicated Imperial Fists player (going on 10 years now) I refuse to believe that the hammer-wielding Calgar clone pictured in the new Codex is Vladimir Pugh.
Pugh is described in the fluff as being a solemn man of few words who is a master strategist and who is not particularly inspirational, although he is always on the front. He is also extrememly repentive and has had his tastebuds removed in dedication to Dorn and the Emperor. He also tortures himself physically every day.
For these very reasons I thought a humble chainsword and bolter would work great with him, rather than a drooling, maniac of a Space Wolf'ish Calgar wannabe tumbling into battle with two lightning-covered caveman clubs.

He actually removed his tastebuds because of the 170-some fists he lost in a disastrous move. If I recall he can't feel, taste and smell. On another note: Damn! I could have sworn that was Tul'shan.

I am a HUGE fan of imperial fists! that is my space mrine legion and i am working on the 4th company with elements of the first company 'pre heresy'. This question is more directed to one of the moderators but are you allowed to post armies other than guard in the picture post and painting and conversions? Great work on Pugh though. its always great to have a break from painting fatigues and flak armour
