Well, my boredom lately has led me to become frustrated with my life a little, so I needed something to distract me. So armed with a shiny new paintbrush, a cheap Airbrush and some revitalised painting.....kung fu? , I decided to turn yellow... As you can see at the moment it's only the leg, but just imagine the whole Terminator painted like it Advice and C&C is always appreciated, Daniel

I thought I told the Techpriests to wait until I was out of my armor to paint? Ugh... programable servitors... Looks awesome so far, I loved the Fist armies was just too terrified to paint yellow

Thanks you two,
@kriegeirk: I was too, but now that I've done it, I realise it's not that bad. This was just a White spray undercoat, then a yellow coat with a crappy Airbrush, a select Gryphonne Sepia wash, then some light highlighting.

Good stuff, great work on the chips too. i find it especially tedious doing the whole 'lighter colour, darker colour, metallic' thing, although it does look great! I hope you can stick at it and get him finished

He's looking quite nice so far Cosmic! Will he be an Impy Fist? An airbrush does wonders for colors that are difficult to achieve coverage with with a regular paintbrush, yes?

There is no way I would do large scale yellow without an airbrush...

Yup, when I do base coating work on my Blood Angels, I've pretty much switched completely over to using my airbrush to do it. Blood Red takes too many coats by hand to look even, whereas with the airbrush it only takes two or three applications...

You know what? I see that skull and imagine a number on it's forehead or perhaps some type of rune.

Well cosmic between you and Trooper, I wish to extract your painting skill genes and combine them, then inject them into me. I've had a hankering to redo my Marines. Imperial Fists it shall be. Where can I get a good but fairly cheap air brush?

Well cosmic between you and Trooper, I wish to extract your painting skill genes and combine them, then inject them into me. I've had a hankering to redo my Marines. Imperial Fists it shall be. Where can I get a good but fairly cheap air brush? Avoid the GW "airbrush" and canned air. My advice would be to look at local hobby/model railroad shops. An airbrush shouldn't set you back too much, but the compressor for it can--it's important to get a good compressor. Look for a dual action airbrush because they give you much better control over the paint application. I've found that GW paints can be used with an airbrush after you thin them 50-70% with water.

I'll be honest Kreig and say that my Airbrush is a little Revel one, simeple compressed air Can and a crappy plastic airbrush, just like the GW one. And as you can see the results are good!!

I recommended the compressor and dual action airbrush thinking ahead that if KRIEGEIRK gets a bunch of vehicles for his DKoK force, that having that equipment would be useful for doing weathering effects.

@cosmic, how did you do the shades? Did you pinwash them or you cover the entire area? Thanks for the answer.

@cosmic, how did you do the shades? Did you pinwash them or you cover the entire area? Thanks for the answer. Just a thin paintbrush really. I first just painted the Gryphonne Sepia wash in the grooves and joints etc, then I did a second all over coat on the areas where I wanted shade Second Termie is done.... Cosmic
