Well now that my commission is finished I needed something to quench my new found thirst for FW! I spontaneously bought an Elysian Command Squad and a Macharius Omega. This thread will from now on be dedicated to my resin exploits! Here's the new additions..... Just to show the size of the Omega! The parts will now be cleaned, so toodle pip! Be back later Cosmic

I can't write anything constructive, just pure envy, joy and a little tad of hate. Have fun, and enjoy it!

Looks very promising.
I'd like to see what it looks like finished.
Keep it up.

Glad I could contribute to this haha. Can't wait to see the epic painting coming in this thread. What colors are you going with for the scheme?

I can't write anything constructive, just pure envy, joy and a little tad of hate. Have fun, and enjoy it! I will! and thank you, glad I could envoke so many emotions Thank you very much everyone I think I'm going to enjoy doing this more than my Titan! @teku: No I haven't, I have just startd thinking about it. I might try an Olive Green colour, keep it realistic. But I'm not sure......suggestions everyone!! I've added some Brass Etch Aquilas and replaced the footplate with the one from the Basing Kit..... Just building this has made me giggle like a schoolgirl.....it's just epic! A really great kit and I seriously would recommend it to everyone. I'm going to try and add some little extras. I think I have some more brass etch pieces left over from a Sherman Tank, some headlamp covers etc so I'll see what I can come up with. Suggestions for the colourscheme of both the tank and Elysians would be great Cosmic

Well I would say since they are mostly drop troops a dark blue would be cool. Make them like a night fighting force.

yeah i like tekus idea... make a force that comes from a world that operates during the night... go for a overly darkened colour scheme... dark greys with digital camo patterns ... all in a darker palette.... this would also benifit you from making them look less like esylians by making their visors contain night vison gear... (although im biased cos thats what im doing) you know what i mean.
edit... also this would give you the opertunity to do alot of osl painting ... oh yeah!

Pure awesomeness. How about a splinter cell type unit ? Black armour, grey fatigues and either scorpion grey or blood red visors and scopes... OOOOOOOhhhhh I just jizzed.
Alos, I really liked that blue colour scheme you did for your last commission, any chance of these Elysian following in those footsteps ?

dark greys with digital camo patterns ... That'd be amazing and a challenge, so I agree. I know I'm going to get hated for this...... I prefer the Vulcan or Vanquisher Macharius. I think the 'canopy' for the blastgun spoils the profile of what is a very sexy tank, which upsets me as Macharius + Plasma Blastgun should = Awesomeness. Unfortunately I think it looks a little clumsy. I do like the added details that make up for it though, like all the little screens and things. And you do know that this will make me want a Vanquisher even more......

I have a question about the tank is it an eslyian tank? I thought most of the new tanks were for the DDoK forgeworld books. Not that there is anything wrong with having this tank I was jw.

Alos, I really liked that blue colour scheme you did for your last commission, any chance of these Elysian following in those footsteps ? The Blue was Teku18's scheme, not mine, although I did quite like it But unfortunately I won't be doing that. It's not, no. It's just a generic tank, most regiments can use them. Although this model does come with a Cadian gunner Thanks for the suggestions everyone, there was plenty of them! Unfortunately after painting an all grey army already I'm not keen on any more dark colours like greys, blacks and dark blues. As such I'm thinking of a either a beige colour similar to that on the Tauros and Venator for Tekus commission, OR an Olive Drab WWII style. I'm thinking beige and Camo fatigues for the Infantry with Olive Shoulder pads. Also I've done a bit more work on the Omega, replacing the rungs on the ladders with Plasticard tubes to make them more realistic instead of the fully moulded in ones (that can be seen above the plasticard ones in the picture) Cosmic

These image make me want to start an Elysian army. When I'm done with the Dogs I've drawn up a 1,500pts Elysian list to do but the models are so expensive! Do you get many miscast mishaps with the Forgeworld models?

Do you get many miscast mishaps with the Forgeworld models? They are indeed expensive and I did hesitate about buying the Elysians too. Luckily I haven't had any miscasts, the Sergeants shoulder pad is extremely thin and see-through, however that is the only thing out of the whole set.

You could go with a nice green vietnam war style uniform. That steers away from the grey and fits n with the elysian fluff.
The soldiers in 'nam jumped out of huey's, the elysians out of valkyries and the such.
*hums ride of the valkyries*

I'm really struggling with this one, I have too many ideas!! I've taken to the interwebz for some inspiration and looked at other peoples Macharius'.... These are the ones that caught my eye...... I really like the red one, however the green one with all the weathering is superb too and is a good platform for my Elysians........ahh too many to choose from! The whiteish coloured drawing is great too and I really like the subtle eagle stencil on the side.........so tempting......

You could always make them red and have them be support units for the titan. Make it part of their fluff.

Do it like the red one, just add a bit more silver, then it will look like my colour scheme. As my scheme has copyright, I'd then have to confiscate it and pretend I was epic enough to do it . As for which to do, there are 6 pics there, so roll a D6, then realise you can't leave such important decisions to the will of the dice gods, so buy 6 more Macharius omeagas, then paint the one you have, and the other five in the different colour schemes. Send the sixth to me . Seriously now, I think they all will look good, how ever you do them, so do which you think you will enjoy doing the most, and then get pics up so we can go slack jawed in awe.

OOOORRRR you pay me and I'll paint you one muwahahaha! Yeah I know, I've just never had so much difficulty deciding on a sheme! It's annoying. It's close between the red and the cream/white.

I really like the last one, with the heavily weathered green. You should paint yours in a similar scheme.

maybe have a mess around and take some ideas of one sheme and mix 'N'match with others. I had the same problem when it cam to paint my other two super heavies, I ended up taking diffrent ideas from my Imperial armer books. I hope you set your eyes on something soon Major Downer
