Really, it doesn't matter what the codex says in that regard. Even if the Hellstrike was S10 AP1 Ordnance 60 Large Blast Twin-linked Lance Melta and could be fired no matter what speed the Valkyrie went at, if the FAQ makes it an Ordnance krak missile, then it's an Ordnance krak missile. FAQ > Codex > Rulebook, every time.

All the FAQ does for the Hellstrike is clearify that it works exactly like the codex has always said it does.
Ordance= roll 2d6 and choose the highest for armor penatration, no other weapons may be fired.
The rulebook never says that all ordanance weapons use the large blast marker, it says that all ordanace blast weapons use the large blast marker (unless specified otherwise.)
They didn't change anything.

I use both in my standard air Cav list and elysian lists. 2 Valks with 2xMRP and 2x individual Vendettas, + 2 Vultures in the Elysian list. The long range Anti-tank is very important.

Ello.. (again) .. I was wondering if anyone knew the rules for a Vulture Gunship.. they've been mentioned here (and on forge world) as part the Elysian Army, though are a recognised STC template (therefore not to fluff bending to have some in an army).. I can see there are several options for loads out too (4 rocket pods seeming the winner by far).. where can I find the cost of this (in points).. its not that much more (in £££'s) than a valk now either!..
I heard rumours that the twin punisher cannons are twin linked, thus making a possible reason to field a punisher cannon once again totally un-worthwhile... (unless its super cheap - like free!)

That's right, Hellstrikes they're non-blast ordnance. No MEQ killy killy with that. That's what we've got Demolishers, Medusas, Basilisks, and even Manticores for :-)
I'm really torn between Vendettas and Valkyries so I made TL-lascas out of two HWS lascannons and magnetized them to the underwing-sponsons. I also made the mulitlaser at the fuselage replacable so I can switch between the different loadouts.
Currently my metagame is very tank-oriented so the Vendetta gives me the best bang for the buck. But even now, in objective missions, I often have to decide whether to unload all guns or go for speed which effectivly cuts the firepower down to 33% which is a bad tradeoff. Valkyries do not suffer from this problem.
Because of that, when playing three flyers I usually go for 2 'dettas and 1 Vanilla 'kyrie.

The Vulture gunship can have Twin-linked AC, ML, LC's or two seperate MRP's instead of its multilaser
It can then replace its Hellstrikes with 6 x Bombs, 6 x Hunter Killer Missiles or 2 additional MRP (for 4 in total)
It can then replace both the ML and the Hellstrikes for 1 set of twin-linked punisher cannons..
I won't post the point costs, they can be found in the Elysian Army list in IA8, which is the newest stats on the Vulture..
