Yeah, its an English one. Pudding is very important here. Along with tea, fish and chips, brown sauce...

Mmmmmmmm... Anyway ... greens done ;-) now for the base. As i intend to use this guy in games later, and i've not actually played as yet. how picky will people be about him being on a 40mm base instead of a 25? no idea how much a difference it will make in game. If it's gonna be a pain in games being on a 40 i'll base him on a 25mm so i can use him.

well, that way, the enemy can shuffle more enemies around him if you put him on a 40mm. Thus they get more attacks.

Looking forwad to seeing these results! sounds like an interesting competition. Hope to see some great new conversions! so we're moving more to a painting & modeling comp. so plastics win the day.

My conversion is done as well. Unfortunately, I herniated a disc Sunday so I'm out of the painting mode for awhile at least until I've started physical therapy (tommorow.)
Keep at it fellas, I'm looking forward to more great figs!

Yeti's Yell: Ouch that sucks. I've tried that too - not fun... I haven't started mine yet. Don't seem to have the same inspiration as last time, but I'll get there.

[quote author=vegna board=Painting thread=11752 post=243528 time=1288207915 so we're moving more to a painting & modeling comp. so plastics win the day.[/quote] It wasn't intended, although I'm definately not going to rule them out! The model I'm entering is metal anyway although it's mostly for the fun of entering, I have no intention of winning (if for some crazy reason I do, 2nd place will get an upgrade). adastra84: Go for 25mm, it'll be game legal. You could always go mad and stick it on a 25mm base with a modelled plinth...

What?! No inspiration?!!
'Sgt. Capone' from 'Aliens'?
'Dutch' from Predator?
'Rico' from the monstrosity that was Starship Troopers?
Thats just off the top of my head!

I wish I had the ability to make those! But right now, I'm just lazy, I don't know where to start and whether I'll be finished in time.

What?! No inspiration?!! 'Sgt. Capone' from 'Aliens'? I was going to make a colonial marine squad conversion (still might) after seeing someone make their nids look like the Xenos. Problem was the APC model isn't sold in the shop any more But yeah I'll start work on another golden [insert unit here] compeition soon. Going to get some more paint and brushes tomorrow

'Rico' from the monstrosity that was Starship Troopers? Monstrosity? I don't understand why so many people don't like that film. It's a SATIRE! A COMEDY! It's a JOKE, people! It's not meant to be taken seriously! It's making fun of it self! Think about it. Starship Troopers only consists of pretty Barbie/Ken types who catwalk along and who all fight for the good of the Federation. It's meant to be satirical, not serious. It's a parody of war propaganda films of the 40s and 50s (and 60s, such as John Wayne's 'The Green Berets'). What's my proof for this? The director. This film is directed by Paul Verhoeven, who gave us Robocop and Total Recall. All I can say is that people who hate Starship Troopers have completely misunderstood it. Glad I got that off my chest... Now back to the contest... My lack of inspiration comes from the fact that I don't want to make another run-off-the-mill Veteran with bulky arms and a cigar. I want to make something different that will stand out... like a Mordian for example. I just haven't completely figured it out yet.

Oh I don't hate it Boba, I own all 3 of them......
I just don't think the film should have been associated with the book, they should have called it something different and made a serious film of starship troopers.
Weren't they going to call it bug hunt in the first place?
I digress anyway, just wanted to put it out there that I don't have hate for that film.

Meh... Say what you will about the author, Starship Troopers is fascist propaganda. I think it, if anything, deserves to be satired. The two sequels are absolutely horrible, and have no place being compared with the first.
