I'd love to see a plastic Marauder Destroyer... Behold! Oh....wait, did you mean you wanted to see one that GW would charge $150 for? Reds As someone who briefly worked next door to the B-26 Marauder Archives in Tucson, Arizona, I'd like to point out that that is NOT a Marauder. It's a Mitchell. This is a plastic Marauder Destroyer: The extra forward guns are visible below and behind the cockpit. You can use whatever you like, of course, and the Forgeworld Destroyer, with its twin tail, does resemble the Mitchell more. Both (and the Boston/Havoc) were widely converted for ground attack, and the A-26 Invader (easily mistaken for a Marauder) was designed from the ground up as an attack aircraft to replace all three. Some Mitchells in the Pacific were armed with 75mm tank guns, powerful enough to hack up small ships. Did I mention I'm a military aviation freak?

Me too. I wanted 3 hydras now, but it's so much cheaper to get a chimera with a dozer blade and a LR eradicator for the same points and a lot less cash. I've got 4 spare MRPs i'm planning to build a rack for them in pairs and use them to represent the pairs of auto cannons with small SAM pods instead.

I used a quad-autocannon from the Planetstrike terrain kit. It fits perfectly on the Chimera turret ring, and doubles as a Chimerax variant with opponent permission.

I'm with Trickstick. I don't see why a model of a fictional craft gets so much hate. Fiction! GW fiction! There are no laws of phsyics to break, only laws of 'looks cool to the designer.' There's also the "Looks cool to the general public" if they want anyone to purchase it. Yes, it doesn't have to be designed to fly. It also doesn't have to look like the designer was inspired when he saw someone accidentally drop a Thunderhawk in a garbage compacter. jenburdoo: Fair enough. I was eyeballing that Mitchell for a conversion a while back (as you said, the tail is similar, and the sheer volume of guns fits the Destroyer), so I figured I'd suggest it as an alternate. I do so love the Mitchell... Reds

Usually, GW can rest assured that 'cool to the designer' and 'cool to the general public' are more or less the same. Just look at those sexy DE minis. Look how the designs of pretty much everything they've rereleased has improved. (I'm looking at you, every marine vehicle, ever.)
I think the most ironic part of all this is that the leak was several months early.

I agree, that's why it's so unfortunate they decided it was okay for the Stormraven to have the same aesthetics as a smashed buttock. It makes me suspect there's someone on the design team with spectacularly poor judgment, probably the same man who finished designing the Sanguinary Guard, stood back and said "You know what these models need? Nipples." I only hope someone can stop him before he starts working on Battle Sister models. Reds

Found new pictures of the Stormraven right here. Now, I only want to see how the dreadnought will be attached, but all in all I like it how it looks, which does not mean that I will buy one ... my SpaceMarine army is big enough ... at least I hope so Cheers! -Magg

I still think the Stormraven comes from SM players and Matt Ward being jealous of the Valkyrie and of course a guard toy can never surpass a marine vehicle with the obvious exception of the rest of our armour, but then marine fanatics are never known for their intelligence.

It makes me suspect there's someone on the design team with spectacularly poor judgment, probably the same man who finished designing the Sanguinary Guard, stood back and said "You know what these models need? Nipples." See I actually think that the nipples were a good design decision; it fits with the arty feel that the blood angels are all about in their fluff. Sort of like if Michelangelo had gone mad with nerdrage and started drinking blood and impaling people with a chainsaw. I think that they were trying to make connections to classical sculpture, such as the statue of david. At least they didn't go one further and have penises on all the models. I can see why people don't like them but it seems a bit "hur hur, nipples" to me. What is the reason you don't like them?

So the Blood Angels' advance orders are up, and I was looking over the Space Guppy, and the damn thing costs $66! *Vomits* No way will I be buying this model. I've said it before, I know, but it bears repeating. The new Dreadnought, though, looks quite interesting...

The SG look exactly like old-school Roman armor, with a smattering of Incan head dress.
As for the storm raven, I stand by my previous statement that it will look much better in person. And by corollary, I wish I could take the pictures of the minis for GW.

Trickstick: I understand why they did it, but I was never a fan of nipples on classic roman centurion armour. That's just me, though. You also have to remember not everyone who plays GW is exactly mature... Reds

Walrus is correct. Blood Angels preorders have just hit the site. This includes the Stormraven, New Dreadnaughts and a BA Battleforce box.

One little thing: I see that the hurricane bolters go where the side doors are. Does that mean you lose the doors if you take them? Strikes me as a bit odd, they have never had you loose access points before; the landraider does let you choose which doors to use though.

Which is basically the old box with Death Company. Not exactly something that should have taken this long to show up...

Strikes me as a bit odd, they have never had you loose access points before; the landraider does let you choose which doors to use though. It also appears that if they are pointed straight ahead, the lower guns from the hurricane bolter array will shoot a protruding part of the Stormraven Space Guppy's fuselage... Just another reason why I don't want anything to do with this model.

Blech, the only thing that should change about the Battle Sisters is the fact that they are metal. Make them multi-posable plastic miniatures and everybody will want to pick up a couple squads. They did that with the Dark Eldar and they quickly became a flavor of the month codex.

I dunno, I'd like it to look more like they're wearing proper armour and not "very *friendly* person plate", but that's just me. I suppose they look okay now if you paint the corset like metal.
Edit: Well played autocensor, well played.

i think the dreadnought is suppose to hang off the back with he's little dreadnoght feet hanging off, seen the model RL and it's quite impressive the details and btw there's a front assault ramp what other acess ports do blood angles need
