How much does an ogre cost point-wise and how much do they cost money-wise?

£18.50 for a box of 6 - Sorry ILG, but I do believe that still contradicts the "No Points Cost" rule - you can still infer costs by simple division. may have been 4 in my List, don't have it here.

this means Ogres will be one of the less profitable armies (to say little about the fact they don't have many fans compared with the old favorites), I think Sisters would make more money for GW, this makes zero logic. That is why GWS is doing it! but personally I wanted them to make them plastic guess resin if it's good is ok plus bet it's easier to use then the metal crap. (lord commisars arm feel off this morning, had used green stuff on it -_- ) But GWS does seem to be going over board, the current models they posted today don't look that more detailed. Plus personally I'd rather have a cheap, reliable and well produced figure then one with all the extra details soooooooooooooo small that only the experienced painter with a magnifying glass and a single haired brush can paint lol

How would the models look more detailed by just changing the material? They are using the same, although slightly modified, moulds. I think that the point is that finecast may be able to produce more detailed models but they still have to sculpt said models. You can't expect a simple change of materials to change the looks of the models.

To be fair, GW did trumpet the "Look how much more awesome these are than the metal minis!" more than a little. As you say, how much more detailed can they be when it's essentially the same mold?
Personally, I think I'm going to have to be cautiously optimistic about this, since it'll be a bit easier to kitbash these with plastic kits now. I might have to order the BT Emperor's Champion, at least.

I bet that ogryns will still be far too much money. I suppose if I do get some then it will be easy to tell Nork apart, he will be the metal one. It explains why he is tougher I suppose.

Yeah, I kind of wish they'd put out a plastic Ogryn box like they've done for Ogres, but hey, as long as I'm wishing for things in plastic, I'd like Steel Legion, please. Reds

They have to sell an awful lot of something to make plastic cost effective. That is probably the main reason that finecast is pushing prices up, people simply do not buy enough metal (what do we call it now? Rastic?) models to absord the cost of changing the manufacturing process.

well with this I think lot's of the board wil buy the kasrkin and storm trooper models (hopefully they will be good) to use as veterans with cara. But Reds they claim the fiencast will be more like the original scult which is why it has more detail... but then again if they make them in bits like i hope (love customisation ) then I can get their point with that much... Will wait and see. Planning to see if they have any part time jobs over the summer in my local shop. *shrug*

I mean they kind of do but if you deepstrike a couple squads armed with melta and plasma guns behind a tank then watch the fireworks ensue. You even get to re-roll your scatter for deepstrike. I mean their guns leave much to be wanted but they're still a bit better than they used to be. I love how there's a shameless price increase for no fornicateing reason this time. They're just doing it fornicateing because....well, just fornicateing because damn it!

There is something I've been wondering about pretty much every other time I've read one of your posts: Do you actually type "fornicating" or does the forum auto-censor you?

Its the autocensor... You can tell when the caps lock is being used, it comes out as fornecateING ect ect...
Anyway I'm about to head over to the GW site and check it all out so...

Yeah it auto censors me like every time. I don't think i ever censor myself except when i decide to say worked like pee and crap but i think pee turns into urine so whatever. The auto-censors seem to censor quite a bit actually. Some of it seems to go overboard censoring i think.

What about if I like to type fornicate instead of fornicate? You would all think that I was being rude when I wasn't.

I saw (back when I first joined) they had complaints about the auto-censor auto-censoring 'cock' because words like cockpit would never work... I think somewhere hiding is the mods explaining why the auto-censor is so tough.... I will have a look for it after I get home from m exam tomorrow.
Anyway on topic, I have noticed that GW has updated all the metal products to finecast I. The space marine section (as far as I can tell) but not things like the chaos space marine ranges and stuff like that... I'm looking at you Thousand sons...

It will censor your face.
Anyway, the finecast stuff looks a lot nicer than the metal. GW's metal minis were among the worst of the metal casts around, though.

@requiem: Well all i wanted is proof and some firsthand experience from a customer. If you have the proof then i'm sold on it.

According to the main site the packaging is much different too. I wonder if it comes in multiple pieces like the metal figures. I suppose it does. The material should be the only big change. Hopefully it sticks together better.
