I used Charcoal Just artists charcoal sticks. Wow, that was simple and brilliant!

I used Charcoal Just artists charcoal sticks. Wow, that was simple and brilliant! It really does pay to try new things out. Professional military modellers use normal writing pencils to add paint chipping on the edges of tank armour, no 'Mithril Silver' or 'Chainmail' It gives you a really subtle but very real looking effect.

I do like the brown of using the traditional 'scorched brown/chaos black' drybrush, although to be honest it really isn't that much different. A great idea!

Isn't that the one from the last page of the converting thread? I'm still a bit miffed he never finished the warlord, that warhound was great

That does look amazing, I have a lot respect for people who make their own, especially when they include detail like on that one. However, there's no feeling like having the real thing

I have to say I am glad I read through the whole thread. I remember when I got my first forge world item,Maximilian Wiseman's baneblade, and how happy I was. I can only imagine how you felt getting this. Great work on the detail and amazing work on the painting. Wish I could paint like you do real real sweet.

Thank you Teku glad you liked the whole thread. Wiseman's Baneblade huh? I take it that was a few years ago because I don't know of that model!

Yeah I got that back when you could only get a baneblade from FW. If I would have know they were going to stop making it I probably would have kept the thing. That's the one tank I miss most from my old army.

Congrats on some superb work and the appearance of a man cave. I feel the pain of seeing a large and lovingly built model meet its doom.
I had one of the old metal thunderhawks. Took forever to assemble (anyone who has will know why). But after several packs of green stuff, more super glue than you can shake a stick it and about 3 tonnes of brass rod (ok maybe a tad less) it sat assembled and painted. .......and then it met my 5 year old...oh look aeroplane...wham.. Someone off e-bay is now the proud owner and reassmbler of that model.

Didn't know you could sell children on Ebay haha
That sucks about the Thawk.
Cosmic since you revamped the shelf that the Titan was sitting on are you going to be changing the Titan or at least adding some snow onto it?

I was contemplating that actually, I might do, but I don't know if it'll ruin it and detract from it's features

Very true. Guess you could say the heat from it's shields prevents snow from landing on the Titan.

Yeah, I think the Titan would be too hot for snow to accumulate on it while it's being used.

I might experiment with around the feet and just sprinkle it on instead of glueing it to get a feel for how it will look.
