Manticore is superb, Optimat. Love the pictures too! The same, it's lovely. As for the freehand, sack it off and get yourself a sheet colored sticky dots and a fineliner.... I think they sell the dots in 'The Works' and similar such stationary stores. The majority of good stationers/art shops should do a range of fineliners too.

Yeah, I'll post a picture of my mini board when it's finished. I still have some terrain pieces to paint and the barbed wire needs sticking down as opposed to just being placed. It's certainly nothing special but I like what it does add to the pictures and my hobby space.

Try to use the microscale decal solvent. It is easy and is worth the money. You don't have to cut it all the way. Just the corners. There is another tip. try to find a piece of metal small pipe which is the size of the decal. Put the pipe on the decal and hit it slightly with a small hammer. It should cut around the decal the excess material.

Ah the cookie-cutter idea is pretty good.
I never really planned on using many decals and therefore haven't looked at Solvent but now that I am it might be worth it...

Another tip can be:
Apply gloss after you have applied the decal, then dull it with a anti-shine spray (Army Painter is a very good one).
You need the gloss to fill around the decal and make the edges disappear.

Yes. Also the surface before the decal should be gloss. After wards you paint matte on it.
