Well update time! I have managed to retrieve my Airbrush nozzle from the master of mayhem, the kitchen sink!! Needless to say I got straight back too it, so heres the hull as it stands now, and all of the other parts undercoated...

YEAH!! You beat the sink! ;D
She look's so pretty.
You what the next vote will be? What colour Plasma to have, unless you already have a colour in mind ( Standard Blue )
Do you airbrush a darker brown over a lighter brown as a base?

Do you airbrush a darker brown over a lighter brown as a base? Yeah, it gives a more natural look if you do the hairspray thang It's looking mighty fine, cosmic, mighty fine indeed. Please tell me you're going to do OSL plasma glow onto the hull? That'd be awesome....

Please tell me you're going to do OSL plasma glow onto the hull? That'd be awesome.... Sorry to dissapoint, but there will be very little OSL. My reasons are thus... 1) I don't want the OSL to be the one thing that attracts people to the model, I want the whole tank to be the focal point. 2) I don't like the idea of having a precious, super-heavy tank having a massive, bright blue signal light that screams 'theres something massive and blue over there! Lets shoot it!' in the fluff of 40K 3) I don't think the coils would glow blue in reality, I'm starting to like the idea of having big copper/brass coils and just the blue glow at the nozzle. So the small amount of OSL will be at the nozzle, thats all folks. I've been airbrushing again and here's the Omega right now.... The copper coils will break up the mottled white on the Plasma Blastgun, the the dirt breaks up the colour of the hull, the black track break up the colour too......so all is good!! Cosmic

Fair enough, it's your model dude I'm pretty certain it'll end up looking awesome anyway! Will the copper blend in with the brown weathering though? Or are you going to do it 'bright' (nearly gold)? I think if you're doing it metallic, silver/gunmetal would contrast nicely with the brown. Just my thoughts

I was going to do it really bright, almost gold I'll try a few things out though, thanks for the thoughts! Won't be too hard to paint over Silver if I don't like it.

Looking awesome, Cosmic! I agree with you about not having glowing plasma coils--my preference is for metallic ones as well when I'm painting plasma weapons. OSL on the barrel tips should be sufficient to give a little bit of "pop" to the model, but then again the rest of it is turning out to be a masterpiece.

Seeing your stuff is simultaneously disheartening, and inspiring, depending on how confident I am feeling at the time. Great stuff.

Cosmic, I have to say that is some really nice detail, and the weathering just gets better and better.

Really loving it. As per our previous conversations it's a bit too weathered for my own personal tastes but there's no denying the work that's gone into this piece is top notch. Your power coils look they were were cut off and replaced with real steel wire! Really good.
