So, the Seattle Battle Bunker has Mordheim on Monday nights. I just found this out, much to the detriment of my Guardsmen's painting needs. I haven't played Mordheim in *years.* I loved that game, and I was quite sad when they stopped supporting it. Now I get to play again! Squee!
... So... much... painting to do... and I'm getting ready to move, to boot. DAMN YOU, BATTLE BUNKER!

Never played it. Is it like necromunda for fantasy?

yeah thats proberbly the best way to describe it... necromunda set in the fantasy warhammer world...
i used to have a sweet skaven gang.... mordheim was a good system, very similar to necromunda.

It is one of the best games GW ever produced ! with absolute stunning models, (look at eBay).
it is a Fantasy Skirmish game with a good background and fluff. if you play fantasy the rules will be very familiar to you.
We played yesterday a very nice game of Skaven <-> Which Hunters.................. Houzee for the Skaven ;D ;D ;D (hhhmmm My Skaven !)
You play with 10 to max.20 models thus it is very affordable. rule book is available for free via the WWW web since GW does not sell it anymore.

Yeah, it's a great game. I've managed to almost single handedly drum up enough players to get the league going, but it's going to be a good one. So far, we have Reiklanders, Witch Hunters, Orcs & Goblins (yours truly), Dark Elves, most likely a Skaven band, and one or two other unknowns showing up this week. Should be a rowdy good time.

Mordheim, Necromunda, and GorkaMorka are my three favorite GW games. BTW if you are playing Mordheim, roll with Skaven. They are arguably the best army in the game.

Nah, I run Orcs & Goblins. Shooty ones, at that. My boss has more kills with his bow than he does in melee. Scary.

Mordheim and Necromunda are supposed to be played with lots and lots and lots of cover. Everytime I see a game of Mordheim or Necromunda at my local Battle Bunker they play with hardly any cover and people go "hurr durr, shooty warbands are OP".
Come to think of it, most people don't use enough cover for regular 40k games either.

We always used factory style scenery.. Many times did we kill/die by jumping on people from 12" towers...

Cool stuff Adkenpachi. When they had Mordheim at the Los Angeles Battle Bunker I was excited to join until I saw them playing on a 6x4 with hardly any terrain. Lame.

its not as important to have a really built up playing area as much as necromunda in my opinion... theres more guns and longer ranged weapons in necromunda and breaking line of sight is far more important... in my experience with mordheim , close combat was more common than long range weaponary.

In the beginning stages it is mostly going to be CC because everyone's broke and unskilled but range will dominate unless you play in heavily built up areas.

Not true, out of our group of 5 i guy had a las cannon from the start (just had like a naked leader and 3 naked gangers with it) and he always won if the terrain wasnt positioned with line of sight in mind... I only found out fairly recently we were playing the 1ed rules and he could use the lascannon like a lasgun but it never once failed and ammo roll and killed anyone it hit instantly. It was like godmode but im sure they fixed it since then.

I played necromunda on a 6x4 table using the gangway terrain in the box set. House rule was no using the table, it was counted as being lava or something. Was the best game I ever played for necromunda!
