So I have a plan for the upcoming tournament that you all have been helping me with (thanks) and I would appreciate you input on my idea. I like to make lists that are heavy with Hunter-killer Missiles (if it can take it its on it). The hunter killer missile fascinates me due to its strength, range, and relative cheapness. My plan is to use them turn one to hit a high value target such as a Wraithknight or Riptide. This should work because of the size of the figure that, I believe, almost every unit on the table could see. The other idea was to target the warlord turn one and see if I can get first blood and warlord kill with it. is this a good idea or just some rubbish idea I have stuck in my head? So far it has worked well against my friend who plays Tau to attack his Crisis Suit Commander but that's all I have used it against. Any input is appreciated.

Unless I am mistaken, hunter killer missiles don't need line of sight. This makes them perfect for gettin shots off on enemy transports turn one before they can get up and in your face. Your idea is very sound.

HK Missiles need LoS like most other weapons; they just don't have a maximum range.
I suggest taking HK Missiles on Hydras: Same price as with everything else, but it ignores Jink saves due to the Hydra's targeting system. Also, you'll want some decent anti-air.
However, I wouldn't suggest using them against Riptides, since they're only AP 3. You want lascannons against Riptides.
