So I broke a wire and its unfixable, wont go into why. I figured out I just need to replace one small part but I have no idea what to even put in to google to find one! Its a small circuit board about an inch long by half an inch which has two fans plugged into it on the removable side of my tower. If no one knows what it is il accept advice on what to put into google

With ample crimping and some anger issues I may have fixed it with some spare parts... though the craftsmanship seems like it may not work. Heres the chip anyway...

It's most likely a power board of some description. Search for your tower and parts or something.

I think I have the same case as you!!! Not sure what the board is called, but you should be able to plug those fan connectors straight into the motherboard, just look for any 3pin/4pin/PWM sockets in the motherbord manual. I did that as it means you can control the speeds of the fans through the speed speedfan program, something you can't do through the molex...

True, I have 3 spare plugs in the mobo but the cables they are on are 2 inches long and it's the door which comes off regularly
