So after a year in the hobby a reached the point I have more units than I know what to do with . My problem is the following . My list accomodates 2 hq 6 troops 3 hs 3 fa and 3 elites . What can I do to go bigger ? I mean I know I can use platoons instead of vets and squadrons instead of lone vehicles but I dont like it .... Also I am vaguely aware of the concept of unbound lists but find the idea unsttling can I use to normal primary detachments as an army ? How does it work ?

You can also take multiple primary detachments now. Also formations, if there's one you like and can field. As many of both as you like.
Perhaps break your army into two (1 hq, 3 troops each) and start from there. My own plan I'm playing with is to have an oversized company's worth of Veterans. Which I can do by making each "platoon" a single detachment of HQ and six vet squads. Four platoons and one extra HQ section will make the company.

The Force Organisation Chart is essentially dead in 7th.

.. almost.
The one advantage of having a normal force organisation is it gives your units better objective scoring.
It is still possible to add to a normal force organisation with detachments, allies and formations making them pretty flexible, if somewhat confusing.
I feel the FOC is something which needs to be discussed prior to a game as it makes quite a difference to the game that follows.

If Andres takes Elysian allies under their own codex will he still keep within the "normal FOC" and maintain the scoring abilities?
If so Andres, I would suggest you could keep your IG themed collection and still be able to expand it with an Air Drop capable allied force. You seem to like your Vet squads. Take two of them with a HQ that can deep strike and take Valkyries as dedicated transports.
A squadron of 3 multi melta armed sentinels that can deep strike. Elites with IA3 & 8. FA with IA4. They can also have heavy flamers or heavy bolters instead.
IA4 has some insane elite squads of veterans(see the D-99 thread under Drop Troops and Flyers).
The Elite, FA and Heavy slots in IA 3,4,8 allow you to take things like:- Stormtrooper squads like the old codex, so a bit different to them now (not IA4). Tauros and Tauros Venators. Cyclops demolitions Vehicles Sentry gun squads
Also aircraft like:- Sky Talon vehicle transports Vendettas at the old points value Vulture ground attack Thunderbolt Lightning Avenger
There's also some different wargear that is interesting and useful and some similarly interesting special characters.
You don't have to pay Forgeworld prices for their Elysians unless you really want to, Just model and/or paint your cadians a little differently. Or use Catachans. It wouldn't be unreasonable for troops, once landing, to strip down and move as light and fast as possible. I speak from experience there.
Anyway ... just a thought for you.

You can still make it into legal FOC detachments; all you need are 1 hq and 2 troops per detachment, so that 2 hqs/ 6 troops you've got can become 2 detachments of 1 hq and 3 troops each, then you've instantly got access to 6 elite, fa and hs slots and an extra 6 troop slots as well, with the same list. You can have as many detachments as you like within your points limit. Admittedly platoons are a huge obstacle to this; veterans are less of a point investment for getting loads of detachments. In fact you have veterans already so you could even just get another commissar lord and divide the army up into further detachments if you want some kind of tank spammery going on.

So Andres ... what have you decided to do ? What units are being recruited into your expanding regiment?

Well thanks for the patience and I am sorry for the delay of my response but I have been busy . I hope I did not come back as disrespectful My primary concern is this . I like my armored sentinels and leman russ not to be squads . Sentinels have to be able to jump and get a unit locked in cqc and tanks should be able to choose targets independently . So I was trying to feet this principle in bigger lists . I usually run a blob of 30 and 3 vet squads a CCS and Lord commissar . Given my new-found understanding I will be able to split the above in two FOCs with an HQ and 2 troops and then still be able to fit all 5 sentinels(I am planning on acquiring a couple more ) 3 tanks and my wyverns Also I might be able to purchase more psykers for extra fans I see a lot of people using FW models and in the forum . I find warhammer expensive as it is but FW seems ridiculous . Is there any retailer that gives a discount on them ? As I understand the Elysians are fun list but I think they are far outside my kind of list (I like gunline) Also I run some scions(they die horribly but god the models are beautiful and when they achieve their target I feel sooo happy (although a 150 pts unit to just get a chance of killing the warlord is not the best investment )

So my future purchases should be 2 leman russ (both kits) 1 heavy weapon squad (I only have 3 lascannons) 2 Sentinels and just out of curiosity and painting some ratlings (are they relevant?)

I never use them but ratlings can be pretty good as a nuisance factor that is hard to get rid of if they are in the right place and your opponent lacks the proper tools.
