In ages long past, Raging Heroes did a Toughest Girls in the Galaxy Kickstarter. These were female sci-fi models that fit in quite well with the guard, either Cadians, Catachan, or Death Corps. Their second one has just opened, and it's (not)Sisters of Battle, and Dark Elvesdar. Once again, at least half of the models are super cheesecakey, but on the whole, they are pretty awesome. I'm almost certainly going to be forced to get a bunch of Sisters, since their Seraphim, Basic Troops and Celestine (Icarites, Regular/Command Troop, and Ascended Sister Erzebel Great Seraphim ) are all awesome enough for me to grab, and there are enough awesome, unique characters even ignoring the fact that they have Repentia that don't look like embarrassing S&M rejects, though they are at least as scantily clad. The Knights of the Chalice look like female Terminators, which is also cool. And the Dark Elves are Dark Elves. I don't know enough about that side to make direct comparisons, but they look pretty awesome. I'll almost certainly get these painted by Cosmic again, assuming that, in the distant future, when these finally release, he's available for commissions.

I threw some money at them too, this looks too promising to pass up. Doing the math on how many minis I can get, I think I'm going to need a hell of a lot of Rhinos.

Are there any fantasy versions of SoB, now that GW dropped the Specialist Games Sisters of Sigmar?
Mordheim looks quite interesting (even though they've stopped making it...)

If you look through the images you'll notice they're producing the line for both fantasy and sci fi.

Most of the Fantasy weapons are even blunt ones, hammers and the like.

That's ideal. If they're equipped with weapons and in heavy armour it'll be about 5 or 6 models only for a starting warband.
Just out of interest do you think the SoB range will ever get re-released or is it just a pipe dream now?

Just out of interest do you think the SoB range will ever get re-released or is it just a pipe dream now? I was talking to kirsten about this the other day... I feel that the new Ad Mech Skitarii plastics may be hinting that we will be seeing plastic Sisters, as many features on the Skitarii troopers' armor look similar to those of the Sisters' powered armor (in particular the helmets and robes), which may be a sign that the "technical issues with getting parts to mold properly" that have been reported to have been one of the reasons why Sisters' plastic infantry have been delayed may have finally been licked.

Interesting;; I suppose the infantry only need 2 kits but do you think there's a need to repackage the rhino, with different iconography?

They would need to develop an all plastic Pipe Organ of Doom for the Exorcist launcher platform, but I think the Immolator kit can already be used standalone to make a Sister's Rhino kit--GW would just need to take out the parts for the Immy's upper hull/cupola/TL guns bits.
For PA infantry they'd just need a variety of bodies, heads, and bolter/special/heavy weapon arms/backpacks plus appropriate close combat weapons to do "ground & pound" Sisters, and then more dynamic poses and jump packs (plus appropriate weapon combos, which they've already done for Inferno pistols and hand flamers for the BA) for the Seraphim. Throw in some plastic characters, and the armored Sisters would be sorted.
The one thing I'd be curious about is how they'd handle Repentia, but I think some of the new Eldar (Harlies and Dark) plastics could give some clues as to how half-naked fanatics with BIG GIANT CHAINSWORDS could be pulled off.

The layout for these feel so counter-intuitive.

GW had it's chance to make Plastic Sisters that I'd buy. I'm going for TGG sisters now.
As to new kits, they won't need a new Rhino. The Immolator kit already has parts for a Sister-specific rhino, as Trooper said. I'd expect a plastic Exorcist and some big walkers and tanks and stuff that are expensive, fit awkwardly in to the army's fluff, but are too good not to take. I'd also expect the same treatment as Grey Knights and Scions, where it's five to a box, with options for an HQ or infantry squad, and then maybe a dedicated kit for Repentia/Dominators. I expect them to try and get the most mileage possible out of the kits they do put in to plastic, so they'd be able to cover as many options as possible with as few kits as possible. Which is nice, since it gives lots of bits.

I am liking the new TGG, but they are not the style I want. too ornate for sisters for me. I'd be tempted by the female incubi and cold one riders, but I wont be backing this one. I received my first TGG kickstarter models on Thursday. I don't mind the wait at all, well worth it, but I don't really want to wait another year or more for this lot when there is nothing that really grabs me. I will probably pick up some odds and ends when they hit retail.

Too ornate for sisters? Isn't that like the Sister's Thing? That's like saying too Grim Dark for 40k.

Too ornate for sisters? Isn't that like the Sister's Thing? That's like saying too Grim Dark for 40k. not necessarily, most of the GW sisters are pretty functional, they look pretty straight forward. The raging heroes ones though are far more ornate, especially things like the helmets and wings, I prefer the utilitarian look. plus, I will wait for plastic sisters rather than resin too.

Or too stupid for a Mat Ward codex. At least Mat Ward didn't dissolve the world. Right. Ward was 'only obeying orders' and if he didn't do what he did (release the 'raven and dreadknight) then he would have been erased and replaced with a replicant / doppelganger with the same name, same face.

Mat Ward was a Vorta. In fact at least one noble Ward rebelled and was sent to the chambers while being seamlessly replaced.

I heard that Ward, before he was let go, did have a hand in writing the End Times stuff, though, so he might be partly responsible for the world being dissolved...

So, the Kickstarter ended after topping out at just over $800,000. They'll be releasing an official pledge manager closer to when the minis are ready to ship, but Paimon found an unofficial one to use in the meantime. ivoilic.com/projects/tgg%202/
