My plan is to field some of these as proxy heavy weapon teams. To be perfectly honest, that makes more sense having two wounds than a guardsman heavy weapons team. Because the HWT would probably be crippled by the loss of one of its members where that might have enough armor and redundancies to continue firing and moving.

That was my thought too, and someone else made a similar comment. It also looks more 'Mechanicusy", and it's cheaper than the alternative, which is buying a section of Kataphrons and trying to bodge lascannons on to their arms. Six of those track lascannons from Anvil Industries costs about $30. Considering the alternative is a $56 Dunecrawler model, which only nets me one neutron laser instead of six lascannons, I think its a better choice.

Link to the store page for them? I might consider showing them to my nephew. Would be MUCH cheaper than trying to buy heavy weapon squads...

anvilindustry.co.uk/. I've ordered bits from them before and been immensely pleased, although nothing quite so big. Just remember if you play at an official GW, they may not like you using them.

True enough. But at least I can look, lol.

Marauder is half-way assembled. So far, my arsenal of hobby tools has included...
- a pair of small gardening clippers - a huge file - a small file - a set of nail clippers - a hobby knife - sand paper - a small saw - a saw that wasn't very small
It took me an hour just to clip off the huge chunks of resin left attached to the various pieces during the casting process.

Nice!
I ordered a few of those tracked units a couple weeks back to use as cyclops demolition vehicles. They are a bit smaller than I expected them to be, but the casts are very nice.
Looking forward to see the admech guard come together.

So, here's the Skitarii Scions (or stormtroopers, as I still insist on calling them). No cog symbols, sadly, but I tried to most of the Aquilas off them at least. Looking at the image, I need to make a second pass, though.

They look decent with the head swap. The current Storm Trooper kit seems like it is a good one for swapping one or two of the parts out to make it your own. Too bad I already have a bunch of the beret and special forces looking scions.

Cool! That red is really crisp. I imagine that would look great on those vehicles lurking in the background.

Thanks guys! I tried out one of the more subdued forgeworld schem, then just decided I wanted lots of fancy red paint everywhere instead. The last pieces of the army (until I see the codex) arrived today and yesterday. This is the 3rd party techpriestess. I'm very thrilled with her, it's a great mini and a clean cast. I gave her a phosphor serpentia on one of her arms though to make her "legal". Quick Techpriest kitbash, who needs a bit of an axe adjustment. Word from GW is that the basic techpriest now serves as a "cheap" HQ choice, shaving about 100pts off my list. whats the looted wagon at the back left made from? parts of a gene-stealer cult and some kind of railgun? looking good Reds, I'm guessing you utiltised the loota's box to make a bunch of burna boys too. I'm also liking what appears to be 6 custom heavy weapon units, can we have closer looks at these please! (for the extra couple of quid the Stompa really towers over the gorkanought! - the 'nought does tie nicely with the walker theme very nicely though!) Argh, I JUST saw this from like three months ago, sorry! Yes, that's the Genestealer truck. It's supposed to be some sort of mining laser on the arm, but I just glued a power klaw to the end to make a proxy wreckin' ball. And here's some shots of the gunz.

Great concept Reds! You've got some really great conversions on the go too.

those emplacements are really cool, and I like the cult wagon conversion; simple and effective

The weapon emplacements were loads of fun, and used up a bunch of 60mm bases I had laying around. The Rockgrinder was... hrm. It's a nice model, but it's about the same size as a Trukk, if not a bit smaller, but it's MUCH more expensive. There's also not much that can be done to orkify it, as its a very busy model. Knocked out a Skitarii squad this weekend.

Knocked out a Skitarii squad this weekend. Those look very nice as a squad together. That sort of paint scheme tends to benefit from being in a cohesive force. But why must you throw down such challenges

This picture is a bit rubbish, and doesn't do the model justice, but the techpriestess is done. Also knocked out another five Vanguard during the week and started working on a Dunecrawler. I'm quite happy with how it came out, although I'll admit that I didn't so much finish it as say "I'm done."

I like how on the model the tech priest is raised above a mechadendrite that is coiled like a snake. The colours look quite crisp too. Are you going to apply a wash to the base at some point?

Made a Mechanicus Celestine. No idea what I'll use it for, given how terrible the synergy is between her and Mechanicus units.
