I doubt the factuality of the speeding ticket one. My law enforcement teacher told me one that was almost exactly the same, but it was in SoCal, and it was a US jet fighter.

I have heard of the same story happening in the US as well.
Actually, it's not the radar guns, just the highly-sensitive radar-detection equipment on jet fighters nowadays. They pick up any radar lock on them.

They're funny for different reasons, in the first God is shown making a mistake and adding too many ass holes to the world. In the Farside comic, God's actions are intentional, he adds just enough jerks to keep things interesting.
Gery Larson's God is definitely the more devious, even if he isn't as vulgar.
