@trooper: I suppose there are some small hick towns with small populations but there's nothing wrong with that. It just always bothers me when i see something stupid like on 'family guy' even in the early episodes where they go into the deep south or any other similar group in a tv show goes into the deep south. Let me put it this way southerners as a whole aren't the most populous, cosmopolitan, snobby as hell group of people. Some like country music but not everybody down in the south has a southern accent and not everybody down there is a hick either. I've lived in many places in the south and besides education being worse, being a bit more rural and more on the republican side of things and not too happy about gays they never seemed to be overly ridiculous about it. I'd never see the hillbillies tv shows always exaggerate and i'm actually offended when most imply every southerner has a southern accent. Most don't as i remember it. I lived in south carolina for 5 years, was born in alabama and even lived from 4-6 or 7 (years old) in alabama. I know my memory of alabama is tenuous at best but there are smart people in every state. Trust me i know this and even know some online people that live in such states which are very intelligent. I am almost as offended by people's low opinions of southerners as i am of people's opinions of americans. It's still intolerance and it's still just as bad as saying ill of somebody for being black.

@rommel: Oh i know my knowledge of history of the civil war is fairly sketchy but the history channel's gettysburg series was most excellent. The History channel is history made for TV, it's like wiki, an ok start to peak interest and get some of the "basic" facts but not something to hang your hat on. Get yourself a book by someone with a degree in history and get to learning. Ymmot (M.I.A) - Yes, The Cavalry Corps of the Army of the Potomac, under Pleasonton and Buford were like dragoons fighting on foot with carbines while JEB Stuart and the Cavalry Division of the Army of Northern Virginia tried to stay close to their "European roots" and be knightly Cavaliers staying mounted as long as they could. 88's

I have been to the Deep South once, back in 2000 when I was interviewing for grad school, specifically Brimingham, Alabama. It was an experience that I will be happy not to repeat. Several years ago I also dated a woman for a while who was from Atlanta. She absolutely hated the South, and is now very happy to be living in New York City. Oh yeah, the women from Radford that I mentioned in my post above kind of looked like the woman at 40 seconds in this video. *Shudders*

Lee was such a bad ass i'm sorry but he just kicked so much ass that him and stonewall probably had more balls than every other general and commander on both sides excluding themselves. Defeated by friendly fire and drunken tenacity.

Ymmot (M.I.A): Friendly fire because he couldn't be beaten any other way. Also have you ever fought a drunk man? Just be surprised lee made it out of there alive. To be fair that union general wasn't even drinking most of the time during that war to my knowledge but he was a recovering alcoholic.

It was more a matter of having the most resources, but it required a will to use them...the north just had more guys it could throw into the meat grinder.
The North definitely had the advantage, the South probably wasted too many points upgrading their officers...R. E. Lee is an expensive special character.

Ymmot (M.I.A): He was a bad ass SC though. Now i kind of want to play a civil war tabletop game. Thanks a lot ymmot. We all know how hard it'll be to find a decent and popular one of those.

I think american civil war style tactics are more applicable to 40k than modern real world military tactics are...but I am no tactician or real student of military history.

Today, a squirrel tried to sneak into our house.
Also, a quick question for those of you with Skyrim; Short of actually stabbing your erstwhile allies, is there a way to change sides in the civil war? I joined the Stormcloaks then found out Ulfric is a gigantic tool, and all the Jarls I like are on the Imperial side.

@reds: You'd think it's one of those games where you can do whatever you want even if there are consequences. Hell a friend of mine attacked a chicken and then suddenly the whole town wanted a piece of his ass and killed him for it. Wait so some bad ass hero gets killed by several townspeople (less than 5). What a nutsty hero.

Today i've been playing starcraft 2. Started off good, then was average and now my games are just all pretty much losses. God why does this happen? nuts! I gain a few ranks and then all the badasses show up to take out a piece of my ass. I don't mind losing but 5 times straight against people that laugh at your misfortune and tell you to fornicate off at game start is just too much. Gotta love online ettiquette. Gotta say 'fornicate you' to somebody you've never met at game start just cuz. I don't even think i've ever played the guy before.
Regarding my new forum i have a question for you guys. I've had 4 people telling me they're going to join (rommel, rook, soap and cheminhaler) and there may be more. However for some reason none have signed up yet. I'm wondering if it's just because they'll do it later or if they're having trouble signing in somehow. I'd like to know as i'd rather my users not have such troubles signing in and making accounts. Maybe i should make another account to see if it works. Please tell me what the reason is. Thank you.

Short of actually stabbing your erstwhile allies, is there a way to change sides in the civil war? I don't think that you can change after you have taken the oath. Don't worry though, both sides are pretty toolish anyway.

Well one side is trying to maintain the empire, appeasing their enemies by suppressing religious freedoms. The other is using these events as an excuse to seize power. There are no good guys in Skyrim, just different levels of bad guys.
Edit: Add to this the fact that most people in the game are some kind of racists.

Stonewall Jackson only had balls in that he was an idiot. Any commander that actively refuses to adapt to changing technologies and tactics of war can be labeled as nothing but such.
I mean, if I gave you a musket, and you knew that the enemy had muskets and/or rifles, would you refuse it for a sharp stick? Keeping in mind that your sharp stick was only a few feet long, and the musket was reasonably accurate to much further than you could throw it with a modicum of training.

I could always use more members since it's only been up for less than two days and is still in a state of mild construction. Most people i messaged about it didn't respond back. I know cheminhaler says he'll join though. I joined about 3 minutes ago. Only Req will probably get this...but I couldn't resist being the "New Number 2". Also, I know next to nothing about Scaven so I'll have to start looking for a codex and such.
