Oh good lord Trooper hahaha! What happened to your Dark Eldar stuff, Walrus? Are you still playing/ painting? I haven't played since 5th Edition, or painted since the Dark Vengeance set came out (Dark Angels are so much fun to paint), mainly from lack of space and paints. I might go check out the new FLGS when I head into town, as I haven't actually had a proper look yet.

Meanwhile in an undisclosed kitchen... If I used a toaster enough to buy my own, that's almost exactly what would be written on it. I'd change senpai to sensei. DEM VOLTRON LIPS!

Not sure I could get them to want to try any of the other stuff, and I don't think we could do low light. However, in October I am looking into doing a PFATs pistol class out in West Virginia...

Hey all! Just wanted to let you know that I am still around. Req. brought it to my attention that some may think I'm inactive. Mostly, that's true. I've been pretty busy and generally just lurk around. So, here's a little update. My wife and I bought a house. I finished grad school. Have two kids. Did a year long chaplain residency and got my student loans paid off. Found out there are no jobs in my field. I now paint commissions for frontline gaming and will going to a police academy in January.

Today, I've been doing a little research on the guns my family owns. Our Colt 1911 is actually a Springfield Armory model, produced in 1917 in a batch of about 2,400 pistols.

Saigon. I'm still in Saigon. I'll bet you can't find one of these in Saigon. The scale of it next to the marine makes it perfect for 40k.... I haven't played since 5th Edition, or painted since the Dark Vengeance set came out (Dark Angels are so much fun to paint), mainly from lack of space and paints. I might go check out the new FLGS when I head into town, as I haven't actually had a proper look yet. I considered Dark Angels; the dark green a moody colour to paint but at least its easy. Try painting a bright colour on marines - its even harder. If you want them super easy just paint them in the old colour scheme; black. You could either paint them black and drybrush with a dark grey OR paint them a solid dark grey and hit them with a heavy black wash. Then fill in all the details. No matter where you work, or what your job is. And that goes double if you're John Connor. Indeed. The individual jobs may have slightly differing perceptions of 'the ultimate robot' and there may be cultural variations, such as people applying for Police Academies having to dress as Robocop on the first day of training. Today, I've been doing a little research on the guns my family owns. Our Colt 1911 is actually a Springfield Armory model, produced in 1917 in a batch of about 2,400 pistols. That's an antique. In 3 more years it'll be 100. I take it it's kept well oiled?

Sounds good; they're probably quite valueable. You could sell them as antiques one day and buy a new armoury with the proceeds.

My dad may sell the rifle for a tidy sum, but I'm keeping the 1911 as a sort of heirloom. The Springfield Armory ones aren't as valuable as the Colt manufactured ones anyway.

Still nothing to sniff at, really, though. Springfield Armory is pretty solid, and even the newer model 1911s that are true to the original design manufactured by them go for around $800 at a minimum... I'm sure that one they produced in 1917, and that has been well-maintained, is worth significantly more (heirloom value aside).

Teaching English in Korea. This year has ended up being ridiculously busy for me because of this whole process...
Go on vacation, start TEFL class, start assembling paperwork and applications, do more of that, do interview (just finished that right now), do more paperwork, do another interview, do more paperwork. Then I might get hired. Then comes buying a plane ticket and MOAR paperwork. I won't even get to relax in January, since I'll be cleaning the house, doing something with the car, and preparing to move overseas. I leave at the end of February, start teaching the beginning of March. That will literally make just short of a year solid of work to do more work.
I think something's messed up here...

No joke, it was a year long process applying for the police. I have a good friend who taught English over in Korea. He really enjoyed it.
