Great week, upstairs toilet overflow=water pissing through the kitchen lights -.-
Paints been stripped off my car door (poor paint job in the past, not vandals)
Engine lights come on the same car.
Dropped my xbox and it no longer switches on. (Last week bought a bunch of games too)
On the plus side I finally bought a new SSD so my upgraded pc is no longer a really expensive brick.

interstellar is good!
today, I had R2 D2 and a half sized Darth Vader in my lounge.. I have pics to prove it too!
I have also gained a dog, spent a weekend working (about 56 hours or so) which included a rifle range, abseiling, and zip lining amongst other elements!
I am also nearing completion of my new models cabinet - built to hold over 35,000 points of ork, guard, marines, eldar corsairs and skaven hrud.. plus scenery.
and.. I am getting closer to finishing my diploma (which was supposed to be finished in january!).
busy ain't the half of it!

The way I define "weekend" gives it a 48 hour maximum. I have no words for how busy you must have been.

I'm assuming you don't have access to a tardis or any other means of reverse-time engineering then?

Time engineering?! I want to know why were not in Hammersmith, in 1989? Chem, you and the other local IGMBers need to get your butts over to that store ASAP and take cameras with you to take pictures of the Gorgonum Purgamentorum display board that they've got set up in that store! And take pictures from as many angles as possible. The latest White Dwarf has a teaser article about that display board, and it looks positively gob-smacking. There's a nice nod to the inside of the atmosphere processing plant from "Aliens" built into part of the display. Don't know when I'm going back. I hope they keep the display up for a while. The store looks really busy, looking at its facebook page.

I would stay inside and avoid highly flammable objects for a couple of days... I decided to buy an ssd, get the 3 months of dust off the pc, install gta5 and get really pissed for the first time in a year on beer and whiskey. Might raise a glass to a local who committed suicide the other day. Just found out about him, was planning for a baby and house, had festival gigs lined up, his bags packed and restung his guitar then just hung himself out of the blue, really weird.

That is really weird. Sad. In my last job I often had to work with the families of those who committed suicide

Yeah a lot of people knew him well and he must have hid it well because it supprised EVERYONE. Real dodgy story.

Hiding it often seems the best option. Worryingly, it often is.

Tonight is the start of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel. It means "Day of the Whirlwind," and commemorates the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Revolt.
Never again.

I'm pretty sure Farage isn't anti-Israel. Unlike the far left equivalent group (forget the name), who are always demonstrating against Israel..

I think he was more referring to the persecution of minority groups in general.

UKIPs main targets are Eastern Europeans, not all minority groups. Have you never seen the ridiculous banners they put up about how Poles/ Romanians are having more babies/ stealing your job, etc.?

Visiting Scotland with my Dad it was a little distressing to see the racist graffiti, though either we weren't paying attention or there wasn't all that much of it in Edinburgh proper.
Yesterday, I played The Sword and the Flame for the first time, a 1:1 15mm recreation of Rorke's Drift. And it was a lot of fun. We went thru about 17 turns, by which time I (as team leader of the Brits) had killed off around a hundred Zulus and caused around 200 to break. This just left 1200, recycling back into the battle. The Zulu players had planned on demonstrating to our front while more of them got around the station, then closing in on all sides, but their impis kept straying into range of our Martini-Henrys and it was about as uncoordinated as the real Zulus at Rorke's Drift. The British lost about ten dead in the process, and were not doing too badly at our collapsing defense, falling back from the corral and hastily building redoubts with mealiebags. I thought we were about to be overwhelmed, but unfortunately for the Zulus it takes three turns to cross a wall in TSATF and (in theory) we would have had plenty of time to reorganize into two ranks and do the five-rounds-rapid thing.
Unfortunately, on the final turn I made the mistake of trying to hold the peak of the supply-building roof (which we had mistakenly made the hospital) with six surviving troopers against ten Zulus in close combat. My intention was to delay the Zulus swarming over and into the building thru the thatched roof while the hospital evaced, but by the end of the close combat three of my guys jumped off the roof -- and were forced to leave two wounded guys up there for the Zulus to hack to death with their assegais. This is VERY bad for European morale, and the platoon in the courtyard below, having watched their own abandoned and slaughtered, automatically failed morale. Had we gone on they would have abandoned their good defensive position while the Zulus on that side poured up and through the building. We probably could have salvaged the situation since this was only twenty or so of thirty or forty men in range to block the way, but it was a sad end to the game for the British. Never mind the hapless natives, of course, whom we didn't even bother checking for wounds vs. killed, just took them off the board by the handful.
I've had the rules for a long time, but no painted minis (I have about 200 disorganized 20mms for the River War somewhere). I would love to buy some Foundry figs now and experiment, though probably not at the library -- African exploitation (however romanticized) doesn't really fit this summer's "Heroes" reading theme.

Spent an hour spreading mulch today. When you think about it, the concept of mulch is kind of messed up. We take large plants, shred their corpses in to fragments, and spread them on the ground to smother smaller plants to death. That's surprisingly metal for gardening.

Julian Sharps, if you can get a hold of Hetlan, let him know I'm trying to spend some time this Golden Week in Shirakawa-go, and to expect pics if I can make it. He's likely to be the most appreciative of pics on here.
