ERMG... The last entry in the timeline section of the new AM codex strongly implies that the AdMech has figured out how to fix the Golden Throne. And all they had to do was send a war expedition, teamed up with Xanthite radicals, through the Webway to Commorragh and strike up a deal with the Dark Eldar. Well I certainly missed a lot

Yesterday my boy helped me to paint some Leman Russ and Sentinels..
Today I showed my boy a 'Beat Matt Bat Rep' which made him want to play a game using dice (rather than the usual pew pew uuuuurrrggh games he plays).
He used 4 Nobz and a Warboss against a veteran serg with Powerfist, a company commander with powerfist and 3 basic dudes... He won with the Warboss having 2 wounds and a nob with 1 wound. (we deployed at about 18").
We played a second game on his request using tanks and had 2 Battlewagons with Kannons, one of which had a deathroller vs a Leman Russ Battle Tank... He won after ramming the Leman Russ twice. Between us we must have fired about 20 shots that didn't even glance.
It felt like he was learning a lot of maths and seemed capable to taking turn patiently. He's now playing with about a bunch of stuff in his normal way (super glue on stand by).
Shame I couldn't get pictures.
If my partner discovers this i'm probably dead.

You must create the Cerebral Abacus.

You must create the Cerebral Abacus. I expect that Cheminhaler would have completed this task 50 minutes ago (seeing how as 51 minutes ago, at the time I created this post, I had assigned him to the project with all of D.o.N.T.'s resources at his disposal). *Baron Harkonnen voice* "WHERE IS MY CEREBRAL ABACUS!?!?!?!?!?" *Floats into the air*

This thing allows you to see into the future as well.
Mystic Chem predicts that when Cadians are 'recut', they will be a dual kit of Cadian infantry/ Schmadian infantry, there will be good times ahead and sandy hills of ice cream and someone wearing glasses will be celebrating tooooooooo...
Ahem!
*Hands Trooper the Anomaly Cerebus*

Well I certainly missed a lot Nobody told them Commorragh is a burning ruin then? Apparently the deal was done anyway... I gather it took place in some sort of back alley from the flavor text. kirsten has the highly amusing idea that the AM have contracted with a Haemonculus to clone the Big E. This makes me smile so hard. Oh, TEH LULZ...

Then again they're Martians, not Terrans..
Maybe its revenge for the Emprah conquering Mars in the days of Reunification.

Today, I finished painting my first ever 10 man Guard unit. I'm starting to get the feeling I should paint more often. It's not that I don't get stuff painted a bit; it is just that I start something else before finishing and sealing them.
I also had a fun game against some Space Wolves with an armoured list I like (5 russes, 2 hellhounds, vulture, Lady Commissar and a platoon). I'm really liking this painted army thing, must finish more!
I really should read this new AM fluff.

Are you still doing the lava bases?

Are you still doing the lava bases? Not on the infantry, I reckon they wouldn't get too close to lava. They just have a rocky base. The sentinels have them, and I think the vulture will as well. Need to think of something fun for the vulture base, although I find flyer bases hard to plan. They are large, so a mini-diorama seems like a good fit. However, I hate having things like infantry on flyer bases, as they seem out of place. I think I will just go for a really large lava/rock scape, with a few bits of the resin basing kit and razor wire. Sometimes I wish that tanks had bases, I would have them bridging lava fissures, crashing through razor wire or something.

The Skitter (Skitarii) Om-nom-nommer (Onager) Dunecrawler "tank" does, indeed, come on a base...

The Dunecrawler would be better off without one. I'm thinking of getting 2 eventually ; but thinking about it, it'll be harder to move it around in forests etc, (like its supposed to) with the base.

How about the corpses or wreckage of something the Vulture has just strafed?
This is why I prefer 3rd/4th edition area terrain rules...

*Cough*Magnetsinthefootpadsandbase!*Cough* Trooper, are you doing an Ad Mech army? Are you basing them on red Martian soil? I'm slowly building stuff, but have yet to prime anything. I'm actually thinking of making my Skitters and Mechs from Stygies, because they like taking apart and learning about that delicious heretical xenos-tech. Not sure how I'm going to base them yet...

Up to you of course, I'm just dying to see someone base them with GW's Martian Ironearth technical paint.
