Harls proceeded further down the tunnel, there was light coming up and Harls had been noticing an upward movement. He came into a large chamber. The Squad fanned out, the room was roughly semicircular in shape with the roof being flat the curved service had numerous staligmites dotted around and the squad hunkered down these for cover. At the centre of the chamber he saw 150 heretics they appear to be surrounding a...

As the PDF finished digging in to the plateau and on the incline leading up to it, the rest of the forces on the plateau began to deploy. Tank squadrons were sent out to harass enemy lines, firing a barrage of fire at enemy positions before falling back under cover of artillery fire-- the veteran tank units doing so in good order, attempting to minimize damage. Hellhounds took to attempting to harass the enemy supply lines, using Trojans to transport fuel and a small platoon of armored fist squads to help guard them.

Armstrong's men staying in complete defensive posture. Digging in and trying to attempt to catch the enemy off guard with eracted minefields now on the east and west. With heavy bolter and lascannon teams defending the newly formed sand bag enplacements. Armstrong dicussing vauable tactics with remaining commanders. Armstrongs postion was been reinforced each and every day with about 60% of his forces now on the ground. All passages onto the platue had at least a leman russ and 10 kasikrins. The volunteers were sent to infiltrate and attempt to steal enemy supplies while our friendly's had them occupied they were tolled to retreat if the enemy found them out. And the local commissars maintained the loyalty of local pdf and other troops.
OOC: Is this better.

OOC: Yeah...except for the fact that the RP is taking place over a course of two days......Which means you aren't going to go by a daily scale....But that would be my fault. Also, "Disscussing tactics" is best done by speaking to the other characters....That is why this is a ROLEplaying game... IC:
The traitors were quiet for the next few hours, as if getting ready for a seige. Although the artillery positions were quickly demolished by both raiding parties, and counter-barrages, they still managed to do a number on the defenses, collasping a few trenches, detonating a few mines, and in a few unfortunate cases, hitting a bunker spot on.
Asis was satisfied with the defenses. There was still the matter of Keyan's company however, they had gone missing......
"Ma'am! The last of the civies are evaced. We can begin to-What the hell is that!?"
Over the horizon, from the North, came a pair of hulking machines, so large, that definite features could be made out. Titans. A garbled transmission came through.
"-and we shall crush the Imperial dogs beneath our feet! Onwards! Serveants of the Dark Gods! For glory! Death to the-*A brief pause of static, followed by the discharge of lasguns, the rumbling of tanks, and the shouts of men and women*Finally...Ma'am! Keyan reporting! Large enemy force incoming! Estimate 13.....no......17 Infantry regiments! Repeat, 17 Infantry regiments! Backup no less than 16 Armored Coys! Enemy has Vanqs! Under heavy fire, falling back! Numbers less than 60 effectives! Enemy posses Titans! Tore right through-A--Can't---fallling-----Close call. Linked up to 47th PDF remants. Will not make it without reinforcements. Will buy time for PDF."
With a rush, the remnants of 3rd company started to fall back fast from the forward position they had reached. The remnants of the 12th had discovered the large force, and 3rd company had been sent to investigate, but never had a chance to report in what they had seen. The 12th's remnants were also with 3rd company, and although there were only a handful left, they still bitterly fought fought for their lives.
In space, the situation was getting bad, a Chaos Armada had appeared, to firmly secure the world, and they had the Imperial fleet outnumbered, and outgunned.
"This is Vanguard Fleet to ground forces, Chaos naval forces have appeared in force. We got lucky, and they appeared at the edge of the system. We'll buy time, but you have 24 hours to evac. May the Emperor be with you. Out."
"Asis to all 482nd units. Bunker down, this is going to be a toughie...."

The imperial navy ships that brought armstrong and his force's here sent the remining of there forces down to the world. Before the landing craft left to rejoin there fleet they went on serveral bombing runs. To try and slow down the hereitics advance. When the remining of the landing fleet got back to there craft. The ships of the there navy joined with the other fleet.
Arm's forces on the ground prepared for the oncoming offensive waiting for enemy infantry to get close so his troops could fire at them, the sand bag entrencements had heavy weapon teams postioned in them lascannons and heavy bolters. Also waiting for the hereitic's to get close. The majority of the tanks of the regiment went to the north passage way. The remainders blostered the defenses of the east and west were the majority of all of armstrong's infantry were. The volunteers were sent with the rest of the civ's in a matter of kind guesture. They left the supplies that they captured in the platue. Armstrong also knowing he could do better on the front line got to the eastern zone. To bloster moral and provide orders to his forces. Commissars were sent to all friendly zones to kill any cowards there maybe.

Kirlia Asis waved up, her red armor making her stand out among the black armored troopers.
"Where do you think!? They're headed from the north! Also, and I don't care whether you think this is cowardace or not, but we simply do not have the fire power to take down a Warlord Titan, let alone two...My suggestion is that either we get out of here fast, or we pray that the Emperor is watching our tanks.....Or we could try shelling it to death."
Asis started transmitting to Ria.
"Ria. Watch the flanks."
"Hehe! Surprise!"
The Titans were lumbering closer, and eerie sight. Dust clouds surrounded their feet, as an almost obscene amount of infantry and tanks were sent to eliminate a handful of remnants. This truly was a last stand. The bombers encountered heavy resistance, in the form of numerous fighter squadrons, and 3rd company, nor the PDF were heard from, although heavy fighting could be heard getting closer and closer. The 482nd troopers on the front line tense, waiting for the inevitable crash of the traitor armies. In front of them, the two Titans started getting ever closer, and it took nerves of steel to stand in front of such a menance.....

"You WILL delay them. I will provide you all the support I can give, but we need to cover the retreat of the 47th. You are already going to die here, as are we all, and so it is not a matter of survival, but making the best of our ends!
Delay it as long as you can. I will attempt to find a way to destroy it. Get the 47th and their charges onto the shuttles, we are running out of time to evacuate everyone!"

The second the traitors get in range fire. The leman russ's battle cannons prepared to fire. The kaskrins layed serveral minefields in front of the trench system. They placed heavy weapons in the trenches so they had some extra anti armour and anti infantry weapons. They sat there waiting for the enemy to get close.
Everyone in the trench knew that this was there last battle.
"Troopers we stand here as a bulwark against the enemys of man, as we stand here they get ever so closer. Men i expect you to fight and die for our emporer and the imperium. Troops prepare to fire."

"Roger that, transmission understood. I'll have my artillery begin an immediate bombardment of the enemy forces, I would advise you all to do the same. We should also utilize all of our tanks and the Macharius to help form a bulwark against the coming tide."

With a roar of "righteous" fury, the heretics surged forth. These were the conscripts. Many died, cut down by the combined fire of the defensive lines, and blown apart by the mines. As they steadily grew closer, the troopers could make out their eyes.
They were full of fear. And they were full of pain.
Someone, or something was controlling these people, forcing them to sacrifice themselves for the Dark Gods. Those who hesitated to shoot them however, were cut down where they stood, butchered without pity.
Behind them, followed the main force. They advanced slowly and carefully, using armored support, taking cover, and advancing with good drill, taking well-aimed shots.
Up above, fighter-bombers started flying in. Many were cut down by the Hydra defenses, but it soon became clear the Hydras could not hold forever.
The twin Titans, unnerving to all but either the brave or the foolish, advanced, ever so slowly, getting closer and closer to the lines....
"This is it!" shouted Asis as she ordered around the 482nd.
"We hold the line now, until 3rd coy makes it back!"
Meanwhile, a status update managed to come through from Keyan.
"Keyan. 33 effectives remain. 1 squad PDF remain. 12th remnants, 4 left. Making our way closer....Orders?"
"Asis. Keep those PDF alive. No matter the cost."
"Yes ma'am."

OOC: Time to go out in a blaze of glory.
Harls felt the enemy fire whipping past him, despite being so deep underground the sheer volume of las fire was heating u the room. Harls had 3 men left under him now. Father Angenos, had died taking a bayonette to the chest leaving his heart badly damaged, Yelts was still alive and took cover behind the same rock as Harls. The Two other boys were out of sight, he could here thier stubber firing, and then he heard the crump of a frag grenade going off and the stubber stopped firing. Harls looked to Yelts and grinned. "Just us left Gideon, let's say we go out with a bang." Yelts looked confused until he saw Harls priming the timer on a grenade. Yelts realised that Harls was going to blow himself up. Harls pulled the det-cord from the charge and leapt up las-gun blazing on full auto he threw himself at the heretics, Yelts quickly did the same and followed Harls into the scrum. Despite so many enemies firing on him Harls seemed unstoppable as he pushed as close to the centre as he could, then his time was up. The explosive on Harl's chest exploded, where he stood now as just a pair of legs blown off above the knees and numerous heretical bodyparts. Yelts clicked his commbead to the open frequency and screamed down it "The 12th has fallen, we commend our souls to the Emperor. DEATH BEFORE DISHONOUR". Then he died, exploding like his friend.

Asis had moved to the trenches now, and sniped one of the heretics trying to lead the traitor guard forwards.
"This is Captain Asis. My commander is MIA, presumed KIA. The armored units sent here have been evaced out by high command. 12th is wiped. The remaining PDF units are pulling out. Xiang, when you get this......I will most likely by KIA. Send the 2nd. Send the Laughing Skulls."
Asis rose a little, picking off traitors one by one.
"1st company! Rally! We are Hell's Bane!"
With a cry, the remnants of the proud 1st company of the 482nd launched a counter-charge, slamming into the traitor guard. Ripping the bloodied traitors into shreds, the 1st continued mercilessly forwards, killing every last heretic, in an aim to retake the trenches.
However, sometimes, heroic efforts do not produce heroic results.
The traitor commander had wised up, and ordered his heavy weapons to bombard the 1st company. Many survived the barrage, but for all intents and purposes, the attack had weakened back into a battle of attrition, one which the 1st and their PDF allies were surely doomed to lose....
"Hehe....The baddies are making this like a holoflick! Now they're only attacking from the front! Something about honor....hehehehehe....This is fun!"
Asis whipped around, and saw the armored form of Ria, supported by her 7th company. Ria's troops launched a fusilade of lasfire, tearing into the ranks of the traitors. Masters of the art of the Skirmish, the 7th company sowed confusion into the ranks of the heretics. To Asis, it soon became clear that Ria had placed her troops in what would seem to be totally random positions, and using them to deadly effect.
"Keyan...reporting....few left......I almost feel sorry for them."
Soon, the reports of combat could be heard, originating from in the middle of the heretic lines. Masters of deception, 3rd company used their camo generators, making a force of now 50 seem like an ambush of 500.
"This is Asis! Hold here! We hold until the last civi leaves!"
