"By by seniority i suppose. That is my quote "primary skill" but I've always thought I was a better navigator then a medic. Not saying I'm bad or anything just I can read the land easily. What about? One of the "junior" medics assigned to the team or something?"

"Indeed" said Drake, rolling the information across his tongue. "Well, casualties are to be expected. I trust you will support me if any of the men are found wanting in His Service? Oh, and pray leave Kellion to me. I've had lads like that in my units before. You just kick them in the face every time they screw up, and they eventually curb their impulses. Still, it would not be good to risk punishing him for showing initiative - a scout incapable or unwilling of making decisions for himself is useless, especially when combined with a snipers role."
"Find me a psychopath, and I'll tame him. Find me an Inquisitor's lackey, and I'll put a round in his skull and another in his heart before you can blink. I'll not have this mission compromised for want of some fool Inquisitor trying to manipulate us to his pitiable ends. We are the Emperors servants, not the running dog of some half-mad demagogue cringing in the shadows."
"Now....the demo-lass? Your thoughts?"

''Yeah, that would be me. Hopefully It won't be very much use for my medical skills.'' He took another drag of the Lho-stick. ''Emperor, I hate waiting.''

Sterben chuckles dryly "You have my support Lieutenant, the commissariat is ever vigilant." he says as a slow smile creeps around the corners of his mouth.
"As for the Iquisition...I would not put it past them, they've used us as cover before." He shrugs "So long as we're killing heretics I am usually satisfied, but it was a frustrating experience. Anyway, like I said I haven't gotten that vibe so far. Heh, but what do I know. I ain't no throne damned psyker."
"Yeah I've attempted to tame a few manics in my time as well, trained them with a round from my bolt pistol, but all it taught em was how to play dead."
Sterben raises his eyebrow slightly "Trooper Heinbeck? Perhaps a little over eager judging by her state of readiness at the briefing but her record is quite admirable...serving as a conscript and rising through the ranks to become a demolitions specialist in her former regiment. I have commanded a conscript platoons myself Lieutenant few who serve in them ever attain much more than a shallow grave. What concerns me about her is her record off duty...apparently she has a short temper and some accidents have been reported...non-lethal, but due to the nature of the incidents and her less then friendly relationship with the victims it is all but certain that she was involved...I'd hate for a member of delta team to get treated for burn injuries for failing to show some proper respect to lady...but hopefully on the battlefield that will be a non-issue...and if it does become an issue you can be damn well sure I will make it a non-issue."

"Offduty and onduty are going to merge here, Commissar. We both know this isn't a two-week stint in the lines and a couple of weeks off, in a full platoon. We're going to be spending a hell of a lot of time together, and I've no interest in anyone who can't function as part of a team. Keep an eye on her, and the lads as well. I've no interest in having to put them down, but if it's a choice between them, and this mission" he said, gesturing at the shotgun slung across his shoulders "they'll be eating buckshot."
"Lunatics are easy enough to tame. You simply make them fear you, and from that fear, there will grow respect. From that respect, loyalty. We've had a few cases - mostly men who've just...snapped. One of the lads - his entire squad were butchered to a man, and he lost most of his face. Third-degree burns. Anyway, he was going to be shipped out, but he volunteered for my platoon. Nearly got us killed trying to wipe out a heretic gun-spotter. Had to knock him out and carry him home. After than, he was fine."
"Sterben..." Drake paused, inhaling the close, recycled air. "We are going to have to present a unified front here. We have a task to perform. In the Name of the Emperor, let us be comrades?" he said, presenting the man his hand.

The Commissar took his hand and held it firm, his cold boney grasp compressing around his fingers in a deathly grip. "Have faith and you have my loyalty, lead and I will follow. Bring us victory or glorious death, fail and you will die." Sterben's gaze went distant as he recited the words in a chilling monotone voice.
Sterben shook his hand then let him go, bowing his head with a casual smile "You won't let us down Lieutenant Drake...I'm sure you'll do just fine."

Paul had taken his time while he ate as he had always enjoyed heavy breakfasts so he wasn't surprised when he saw that most if not all of the group was already assembled. On his way out he had picked up more ammunition and medical equipment as well as a vox bead, which he fitted over his cap. He stood with the rest of the team, waiting for their mission to start.

Walking out of the armoury, Jack walked to the assembled team and stood just outside the ring, waiting the arrival of the officers.

Kellion was now fully kitted out with his longknife, long pattern lasgun with scope, cloak and camo webbing. Now he would be the veiled demon in the night, the swift demise of any tainted falker to cross his path. He waltzed over to the group.
Chaz flashed a loose salute. "Ready when you are Lieutenant."

"Same to you, old boy" said Drake, baring his teeth with a feral, savage smile. "Now let's get this squad together." With that pronouncement, he picked up the steaming mug of caffine from the table behind him, hoisted it in salute to the Commissar, and downed the volcanic mix in one.
"Gah. Let's go."

A few moments later, and Lieutenant Montfort Drake emerged from the command bunker, just as the pair of chimeras lurched over the foreshortened horizon in a trail of dust.

"Purity Check!" Jason barked. "If you're here line up!". Jason walked towards his position in front of the line, Chaz right behind him.

Moving into position, Jack chacked himself one last time. Finding everything in place, stood at attention, arms down, back straight, and plasma gun at the ready on his back.

"Okay lads, parade line formation, c'mon. get in line" yawned Drake. Damn, that bunker had made him sleepy with the warmth and recycled air. "It's simple. Endrax takes a reading of your vitals - pulse, pupil dilation, temperature and some basic things, records them, and we'll use this for comparison. After Endrax is finished, Sterben or myself will check this over as well. Okay?"

''C'mon, line up. Lets get this over with, it'll only take a moment if you line up real quick and don't fuss about.''

Vince ran up through the alley ways toward the armoury and prayed to the emperor no one would notice how late his transport was. His Stubber was packed tightly against his shoulder as was the rest of his gear. He could see a small group of soldiers a small distance away......there was a commissar with them. Damn it, he thought to himself. He slowed pace to look casual and appear as if everything wasnt his fault for being late. Maybe he wouldnt be noticed..... He was getting closer, and they could probably hear him by now, he pulled his hood up over his helmet and looked away. Trying to blend into a warzone wasnt easy.

(We really don't need a M/L. You can have a Heavy Stubber, Colonel Commissar. And space out your display name and edit it, or else)

Drake turned, and treat the newcomer to a severe, almost savage glare that made it abundantly clear that he was entirely displeased with this kind of ill-discipline.
"You! Get in line, you amateur excuse for a Guardsman! I've not the time for such foolery, we've got a purity check to run. Fill him in on the mission details, would you chaps?"

Isan lined up, making sure all his of his carapace armor pieces were in place, and he had remembered everything.
They were, and he had.
So, he lined up without a fuss for the check. Afterall, he had nothing to hide.

Sterben submits himself to the purity test along with all the others, it might help to settle some minds if they all got a good look at how the procedure should be done. He stood at attention with his back straight and shoulders back and didn't move a muscle as he let the attendant poke and prod at him for a moment. Afterward the Commissar crossed his chest with his hands in the sign of the aquila and bowed his head graciously as the attendant moved onto the next person down the line and Sterben strolled out a few paces before turning to face the others.
"Identify yourself trooper, why have I not been made aware of your name and rank? What sort of operation do you think this is?" He barked suddenly as he turned his gaze toward the newcomer with what looked like just barely controlled homicidal rage.

Vince pulled his head down, ignored the others,he turned to the Commissar and gave a sharp salute. "Good to see you again, sir. Remember me? Probably not." He said. He turned and got into line like the rest, and gave a quick run down at the loudmouth who had yelled at him. Turning back to the Commissar,he said "Is this what Delta Teams come too? I remember when we first became Delta, when we fought the waves of Nurgles spawn. Do you remember me Commissar Sterben? I used to be that heavy with the missile launcher and show-offy grin named Steven Ponce. Remember?"

Heinbeck went into the purity test without fear, and passed it She then went back to triple-checking her equipment.
