You know, with the skulls and the lava... and the dark... it's kinda depressing! But that's the grim darkness of the future for ya!
Good job!

@custom: Tee hee! I think the lava livens it up a bit, the board was depressing before when it was all grey Cheers, colonel!

Okay, this is incredible. Looking at it at the start, I couldn't really see what all the fuss was over with this board, but it's amazing and you've only half finished it. Fantastic job!

I've had a 'real' day off today (no housework, trips to recycling bank etc) I've been quite busy with these: The Adeptus Mechanicus building is pretty much done I think, I may pick out a few more details to liven it up a bit, but I don't want to go over the top with it. It is for playing on after all! The rubble and details on the Administratum buildings need doing, just looking at all those skulls makes me shudder. The shrine of the aquila wall will also be rubbled, and await friends at a later date to make a huge destroyed cathedral (I reckon 4 kits should do it). The walls are huuuuuge though! Very cool, will block line of sight to big gribblies/tanks I might add some graffiti to the walls too, as I think such a large space couldn't be left long without some underhive scum writing their name on it! Also painting some craters (no fancy gribbly bits on these ones yet) and finally painting my downed aquila lander from the battle of maccrage (sp?) which will come in handy for objectives and cover. I thought I'd posted this aaaaages ago, I've been playing over at The Tyranid Hive a lot today getting some inspiration for some niddy terrain bits, so I apologise in neglecting you I've also done a bit of the Sanctum Imperialis (I think, all the wierd names confuse me. I've done something anyway!) The pics were a bit dark, as the building is very dark, so I had to use the nasty flash. Eeek! Anyway...

Ok, so I managed to get my mate Chris down for a game today on the new board, and I took pics to show you guys! I even took pics for Loem of how the board goes together Thes are the little clips that keep the tiles together. There's loads on there in case they get lost, and the big black bag comes with a tiny pocket to keep them in The tiles have little slots where the clips go...... Like so! Then the adjacent tiles clip in, and they all get locked together! Now, after sticking on my terrain, we rolled for deployment and mission. Anihilation and Spearhead. 'Nids Vs. Space Wolves. I knew it'd be a great game, as Chris is a pretty good player who loves those 'epic' moments, so never hesitates to get stuck in. Much like me I was all nice and set up: Chris getting his wolves in position:

Are you going to fill the reservoir part with transparent acrylic for an actual pool?

That battle looked epic. The Tyranid horde rushing over the ridge to battle. Thats really cool use of the planetstrike terrain.

After all the whining that 'they weren't resin like in the pictures' they are really awesome. If they'd been in resin they would have had more detail, although they would have been a lot heavier and a lot more expensive.
If you have a pack of the awesomely cheap moonscape craters, then they're just like those, only a lot bigger!
@elegiac: yep, its going to have Guardman swallowing goo all over it ;D In fact, I may even get a Guardsman getting swallowed by it on the next one I do...

A little WIP/desk shot, to show you that I haven't been skiving, only making barbed wire sections! The wire isn't on in the pics, although it will be coiled around the posts.

Thanks mate! I've painted up another couple of barricades and half done my fuel dump stratagem/objective marker, so I'll get some pics up once I've finished it off.
