Check the website, and your emails, GW has declared WHFB 8th edition will be released this July.
So prepare the rumour mill and then after july your nitpicking and griping heads.

This could prove to be either good or bad...I'm hoping good, but I don't really think that'll be the case.

Who wants odds on how much Makarova will hate it?

No-one would take the odds ... unless we find an unsuspecting conscript...

New nice models for WHFB: Total Realism?
Good news, good news. It's hard for me to make them myself, ya know.

Money on it being just as unrealistic as the last edition? And the one before that?

I bet Galatea's modesty and Requiem's pants.
And RT's virginity.

Bet what you want, I'll win anyway. Ah, WHFB, you'll never fail to let me down. Nice models though. Keep making those please.

I'm never surprised by GW's incapability to know anything about medieval warfare and equipment. I'll win, trust me.

Just to play Devils Advocate... maybe GW know about medieval warfare, but steer away from it in WHFB because it's more fantasy than medieval? I know - still doesn't explain the incorrect effects of weapons etc, but just a thought *stops being Devils Advocate*... thank the Emperor... I was beginning to feel dirty... and not in a good way But I will be happy to see the new models... it's always fun to see which bits can be combined with Guard bits to create new regiments... Wonder if they'll release a new race for release with the game (if they do a boxed game and not just the rulebook)... why do I feel like I've just opened a can of worms?

If they think that they're idiots and I'm right anyway. But yeah, I guess I can't blame them for wanting to attract 12-year olds to the game, after all the majority of WHFB players know very little about equipment and warfare, and therefore don't complain.
New models will be snazz though.

If I wanted a historical simulation game, I'd buy a historical simulation game. Warhammer is meant to be representative of medieval combat, not replicate it. If GW wanted to replicate, they'd still be producing Ancient Battles.

I have very little interest in historical simulation, all I ask is that the bloody equipment work as it actually would. Fantasy or not, the laws of technology and physics apply.
But I've already corrected that in the real game, so arguing about something that doesn't really exist as far as my mind is concerned is pointless.

Which is historical simulation.
Magic sort of blows physics out of the water, and forces new ways of dealing with combat, as well as opening up new ways to fight.

Eh? I have everything Fantasy has. At least the good bits. I'd hardly call Orcs and Elves historical.
Just because magic is present in the world and in the battlefield doesn't mean everything is now free to behave any way it wants. I want logic. Magic is logic in its own way. Sure, it wouldn't work in the real world as it doesn't exist, but this is fantasy. If they say my wizard can conjure a fireball and hurl it at people, I have no reason to argue against that unless they were really stupid about it. If they say a weapon behaves in a way it wouldn't, I have a hundred reasons to argue against it. Magic and similar things have their roots in the fantasy world, wargear, movement, morale, tactics, weather, terrain and physics does not.
I'm pulling out of this discussion though, I've had enough of people yelling that anything can be as absurd as GW tells them because IT'S FANTASY!!!11
