Supposedly this game might not be based on the Ultramarines.
They just used them as a "random" chapter.

No one likes the Blood Ravens.
Not even the Blood Ravens.

Are Blood Ravens really any worse than anything else?
This trailer did nothing to show me what the game will be like... I'm less than enthused. It just looked like a video game of AoBR to me...

Explain. They're better than the blue ones as far as I'm concerned.

They contradict fluff like it's their job

Unlike normal marines, who merely contradict Newton's Laws like they're written on rice paper.

Everything in 40k contradicts Newton's laws, even our las guns!

They contradict fluff like it's their job You mean just like every time something new is introduced into the rules and codecies? That's one of the things I like about the Blood Ravens - they're not held back by silly things, and actually have some modicum of personality.

Other chapters don't get demon hammers and slaughter loyal guardsmen (usually).

its not the blood ravens fault its the annoying little barstoods who play dawn of war without no knowledge of 40k and think that blood ravens are the only chapter refusing to accept any other chapters. Plus the players like this get chucked into my, annoying little ten year olds with unpainted models who moan when i take there termis down with my guardsmen pile .... i dislike that pile, * pulls of flamers and flames the pile * hmmm .... satifiing *walks around burning things*

Explain. They're better than the blue ones as far as I'm concerned. Because they're trying to be poster boys and everyone knows that is a job for the Ultramarines! Who are vastly superior to all other chapters because they're ULTRA!(Though the Megamarines and Supermarines might disagree...) Right. Also, pretty sure the Blood Ravens are heretics, though you are all entitled to your opinions... Anyone who disagrees is also a heretic. Let the witch burnings begin!

Going by the games themselves, the BR kicked ass all over, then came back to discover that they had a few chaos-infested people in their own ranks. Purge occurs.
Game over, everyone's a pure-hearted happy marine. Except for the ones who feel regret about Kronus, when they mopped the floor with everyone else. That part differs from my time line, as the IG and necrons claimed the world, not the BR.

*Sets fire to Ymmot and then kicks him into a pit of flaming pointy sticks.*
Firstly, witchcraft and heresy are not the same. Witchcraft is a subset of heresy. Like chatspeak and not wearing pants or disagreeing with my opinion. Thus, if you have a specified witch-burning session, you will not be allowed to burn other kind of heretics. Not burning heretics is heresy.
Secondly, by failing to specify your statement you are guilty of syntax heresy, which is a subset of Grammar Heresy. Which gives me leeway to freely pour this valuable but exceptionally flammable liquid upon your fire-ravaged corpse.
*Douses Ymmot in promethium.*
Thirdly, you are clearly not wearing any pants. Requiem!

The first two charges are something I can live with. The third is one I take pride in!
*Smolders*
Also, I'm fairly fire resistant... we've been over this before.

Other chapters don't get demon hammers and slaughter loyal guardsmen (usually). Grey Knights do. AND GREY KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME.Also, pretty sure the Blood Ravens are heretics, though you are all entitled to your opinions... SPOILER ALERTTheir chapter master is a heretic. But not the entire chapter.

Just found something rather interesting on one of the game review websites:
"Relic has refrained from commenting on many aspects of the forthcoming title, including the chapter of Space Marines to be featured in the game. The Ultramarines were chosen as a random example."
Possibly hinting at colour palate customisable marines or even several ready made chapters to choose from. Looks to be pretty nice if there's anything behind this.

It's really pointless, unless it affects the in-game stuff. Which I'll bet it won't.

Didn't know there was so much hate for the Blood Ravens. It would be cool to be able to edit the colours and chapter symbol.
