The Phallus The shaft of doom Tallywacker I see a reoccurring theme here... Walrus, I authorize you to provide extremely brutal and unnecessary surgery to Laughing Man in order to rectify the situation. The Punisher that I'm working on I'm considering calling "Jack Wagon" and the Eradicator I converted may wind up being christened "POW! Right in the Kisser".

With a Gleason Pask counts-as? I just may have to do that. Tank Ace Jakee Gleesun anyone? For "Jack Wagon" when I Pask it, the commander is named Arlee Ermee because that particular commercial is just so awesome.

The FW Manticore and Hydras that I'm adding to my collection will be named as well. For the Manticore I'm considering calling it "Balloon Knot". Because the sight of an incoming barrage makes the enemy either clench or lose control of theirs... One of the Hydras will be named "Spak". I'm not sure about the other one, though. (Curse you FW for sending me two Hydras when I only ordered one... Oh, wait. ) Hmmm, perhaps "Blitz"?

My army is essentially the WWII Indian Army in 40K, and it is allied with my Fighting Tigers space marines (AKA Hindu Marines in stripes). The Fighting Tigers name every vehicle, so I have a few for them. I post these because my Guard tanks are drawn from the same planet, and I'm considering using similar names:
- Rhinos and Razorbacks are named for different South Asian subspecies of tiger - Bengal, Bali, Java, Sumatra, and so on. The first gets a lot of football jokes pointed at it. One is named, incongruously, Corbett (an alternate name for the Indochinese Tiger). - My Whirlwind is named Tipu, after Tippoo Sultan of Mysore, who was known for using advanced rocket artillery against the British. They stole the idea and used it on Fort McHenry in 1814. - My Predator is Arjun, after a modern Indian battle tank. - My Vindicator is Ghazni, after an Afghan fort blown up by the Indian army in 1841 -- the kind of thing the Vindicator is good at.
My Guard tanks (B Squadron of the 3rd Vedic Native Cavalry), I'm not sure about. Typical Commonwealth practice of the period was to randomly pick names starting with the letter assigned to the troop. So if your tank is in A Troop, it could be named Ardent, Argyle, and so on; if in B Troop, Buchan, Bengal, Bognor, etc. There doesn't seem to have been much consistency - some names were culturally based (for example, if the regiment was Scottish or the like) and others were simply humorous or even in-jokes.
I hope eventually to have something similar to British unit markings on my tanks too.

I have just recently started naming my tanks after famous horses that "stopped a nation", for me that's the winners of the melbourne cup, but for you lot it would probably be the Kentucky Derby or Royal Ascot or something.
And also a fun reference Romani Ite Domum

I like the Romanes Eunt Domus with corrections version. I think it would look nice. Best way to do it is to test them all on like a scrap piece of card or something, then decide.
