After Talking With My Friends at Canadian HQ/Battle Bunker last Weekend (That and Making Abunch Of Terrian Lately For the Hell Of It), I've Gotten Tired Of Waiting And Saving Up for what seems to Be FOREVER to Get myself a Forgeworld Baneblade for my IG Force ... So with That Being Said, I said "Nuts To This, I'm Making My Own!" I went through my Bitz Box, Took Out Minor Tank Parts I had just Laying Around in there and Started Up Writing Out Plans To Begin Construction of the Infamous Baneblade ... Tomorrow I'm Off to A Few Hobby centers (And Home Depot) for A Few Materials like Tube, Wires, PVC Foam And Plasticard (Also Known as styrene sheets .. in case some of you new guys out there are wondering, you can usually find this at any Railroad or Modelling Centers/Stores) and Over the Next Few Months I plan On Building This Thing .. My New Year Project ... 1st off, Lets Get one thing Straight ... I have Stratch Built a vehicle since I 1st Saw those Ork Vehicle Temples Years Ago in Old White Dwarf but I'm Gonna Give This a Shot ... Obviously, I CAN't Give Out Demissions On Here as its a No-No and GW will Shut this Board Down So over the Next Few Weeks, Months (We'll see just How Long this takes Me) , I'll Be posting Pics and Updates On Here for you all to Keep Track Of (Once I also figure out what my current Digital Cam is being such a B.I.T.C.H. ) if You're all Interested ... I think You'll all Enjoy watching it be built over Time .. I hope ....

go curt go.. though if i can suggest that yo try to write down the measurements for your own sake just in case the first one turns out so good/bad that you want/can/allowed to make a second one.. will go much faster and easier probably.. though not always will keep an eye out for this blog to develope... ps my spelling is sh1t this morning..

But Of Course Grisnik!! If This Goes Well, I Plan On Making a Second one For Well The Hell Of It
BaneBlade Construction Blog #1
Went Out And Priced A Few Things During The Weekend ... Here in Canada, Plastic Card/Styrene Sheets Cost About $4 for each package of two sheets, And as Payday Comes Around THIS weekend, Already Put in a Order to pick up some this Friday for 2mm, 1mm & 0.5 mm thick Sheets, Looking Around A Good $20 Bucks For the Damn Things ...
While There, I looked up Tank Models for Parts. I plan on using bits taken from a 1:35 Bergepanther from Italeri for the engine cover parts and wheels and Tracks Links from a 1:35 separate König Tiger Track kit from Tamiya as I Liked them the best.
Next Went To Home Depot To Find out About the PVC Foam To Begin The Frame, and Found out they don't Sell the Stuff. Umm .. I thought This was a place To pick up Materials for Home Repairs!? (For those of you who don't know, PVC Foam Is Used Around the Frames of Windows in installation) .. I'm Looking at at Least A Thickness of 0.118", 0.158" and 0.156" For Different Areas Of the Tank ... No Matter, Building Box Has Them And Went Out And Picked Up a 8 x 6 Sheet For like $6. I looked Up Pipes And Tubing, But decided against Getting Any there as It's a ABS Material. ABS is a plastic widely used in plumbing parts, thus if I Used It, it would require me to glue everything with cyanocrilate ... Too much of a Hassale (And messy). Besides, Tubing I can Get Later At the Local Railway Model Store for My Main Turrets
After Making A Few calculations and Printing Out Some Copies Of Some templates I Came Across, I figured Out I'd Want My Dimensions around the Following: 21 cm long, 19.5 cm wide (counting sponsons) and 11.5 cm tall. I'm thinking the weight will Be About 400 grams or so. Not EXACTLY the same measurements of a FW Baneblade But This will Be My OWN Creation so Nuts To them. Adam from GW Oakville Is Already Interested in This Project and has Joked That my 'Pocket Baneblade' might Have To get Inspected by the Canadian Branch of the Adeptus Mechanicus lol
1st Thing I'll Be Doing is Creating are The Side Pieces and Wheels. Once I Get Those Started, I Plan On Taking Pics for Everyone To See the Process Of Construction

A 1/16 scale tank would be more useful. According to the First Imperial Armour book the BB is twice the width and length of a Leman russ.

I Usually Agree (And actually Considered the 1:16 scale origionally) But I will Be only Using Parts From the tanks for Certain Details (Pieces for the possibly the turret, engine Cover etc) .. The Track Kit itself is Enough that It'll Be enough for me to Use (Picked It Up today) .. You'll see What I Mean In the Later Stages of The Construction When I start Adding little details Here And There ... But Thanks for The Advice AddictiveWoz ...

damn you curt.. if i were back home then I could pay the lesser prices for styrene.. here in turkey.. i have one local shop selling it at 7 YTL per sheet or 1.5mm thick.. which is roughly 5.5 CAD... and it gets more expensive the thicker i get.. got one sheet to make weapons for my fantasy army.. so will see how long this one sheet lasts me.. cant wait till you are up there posting pics from your wallmart special camera will be nice to see mate..

BaneBlade Construction Blog #2
Well Not Much Has Gotten Done It Seems as my Business Partner in the Internet Radio Station I'm Part of Had To Leave due to personal Reasons and I had To Completely Take Over as Boss ( We're in the midst of quite a few programming and Broadcasting Changes) ... Gotta Still Pick Up The Tracks And Wheels Next Week ... All I've Managed To Do Was Mark Out A Few of my Side Measurements .. Hopefully I'll Find Time This Week To make a few cuts and take some pictures of the beginning progress ...
on a side note, if you're EVER in the Toronto Area, and you're looking for Modelling Materials, Please Check out Northstarr Hobbies off the 427 Highway and Dundas ... They Got a GREAT selection And was not only extremely helpful But gave me some Great Advice and Suggestions On Other Things on Construction .. I Highly recommend them to Anyone

I know.. just my way of asking for more updates.. been in the same rut myself.. what with work and moving and trying to get a work visa as well.. though getting an update on anything about it is a good thing.. plus it helps push him on
