Just called.
Apparently you CANNOT deepstrike the Chimera. Most USRs do not transfer to dedicated transports. Units transferring Scout to their transport is the exception to the rule.

"... we can get to the bottom of this quite quickly and effectively for you before we even hang up the phone!"
To me, that means that they would have hung up on you if you'd tried to call first.

I actually talked to Mr. Hall when I called, and he seemed like a nice guy (He plays IG too, so we talked Stormies for a little while).
I will admit, that is an odd phrasing though...

Yes. If one's going to do anything over the phone, it should be before one hangs up the receiver.

I should add a poll to this thread asking if anyone thinks the GW staff are idiots.

Well, I'm sure some of them aren't. Just like there are idiots who don't work for GW.

Deep striking a chimera is ridiculous. I would not use it if it were legal, on the grounds that it is silly.

No the better pole would be who wants GW to sit on it and let us have deepstriking chimeras.

I think deep striking Land Raiders is ridiculous. Of course that didn't stop GW from using them in the game.

So from this we have deduced that Outflanking is possible. But not infiltrating or Deepstriking with a Chimera.
I might try to incorporate a bit of ST outflank action but that weapon needs to be Str 4 to compete, str 3 is too weak against most models with a 3 plus save.

Outflanking is gorgeous with the Chimera.

if you were playing against orks you could argue that the deepstriking chimera was one that a stompa armed with a lifta droppa had been playing with in a nearby battlefield... outflanking chimera's are a nice concept... a reserves arrival of sentinels, chimera's and valks all coming in from a flank is a lovely vision... this comes to my attention just after my order of female storm troopers arrives! www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/range.php?range=FWup until now i've kept well away from stormies.. dunno why, just have!

Some of the minis on that site are very nice. Are they on the same scale with 40k? Reds

*Beavis voice* "Boy-yoy-yoy-yoy-yoiiiiiiing... Meh-heh-heh-heh." Seriously, though, those are some really awesome sculpts, and there's a Lara Croft look-a-like in there!
