So, GW may have accidently leaked a picture of the upcoming Stormraven model. Warseer thread about the leak here. I gotta say, if that's it, it's pretty ugly. It looks like a goldfish cracker. Reds

Oh good, I was worried that I might be compelled to buy one.

So does the dreadnought just hang off the back? Weird!
Actually I know it's ugly, but I like it.. Damn my compulsion for buying Imperial goodies. Like those underpants with the double-headed eagle..

If the back was a lot bigger it'd look like the troop dropship from Starship Troopers. I want one. Oh, it does kinda' look like a goldfish, I like goldfish.

It looks like a goldfish cracker. Reds Or a Goldfish on Crack. If that's the official model... sorry it just doesn't do it for me... But then you say it was off the warseer thread? There were a couple of "home built" models on warseer that people thought were "official" ones - they were very good, but conversions none the less. Not that I'm saying this is a conversion... just, a voice of caution... NB: It's always concerned me that Goldfish are called Goldfish - I've always felt they should be called Orangefish (or in the case of all my "Gold"fishes after the first few days, "Silver"fish). Sorry, very random of me...

It's not off warseer. It was from an accidental post on the Games Workshop webpage. Warseer reported it, then the GW page was removed shortly after. That link has the story.

Still worth buying if you plan on torturing your pet fish to death.

The model isn't complete, or it's a nutsty angle. Either way, don't judge based off of this pic.

I agree that the angle isn't flattering, but I really doubt that GW would put up a pic of an incomplete model...

It's got decals, and weathering, and everything which makes me think that's the full assembly. I read the text of the article that accompanied the picture, and it was pretty much an 'Eavy Metal "How to paint the Storm Raven" article... Someone joked in regards to this photo that it looks like Mike McVey has been allowed back on the design team. Kind of mean, but I can see what they're saying... Disco Lemartes, anyone?

When you consider that:
A: It's an supposed to be an older Imperial design. Not to mention a SM design,
B: Is basically a mini thunderhawk that needs to have room for a dread,
and C: GW isn't exactly known for pushing the design envelope on marines stuff,
it's not so bad. In fact, with a bit of minor converting, it could be just fine. Don't forget the LR isn't winning any beauty contests, either.

It looks like the result of a forbidden liason between a thunderhawk and valkyrie. It just looks wrong to me. The shape is unforgivably ugly and stupid looking.

It looks more like a landraider and mini T/hawk cross. Very marine looking, anyway.
The furioso in the background isn't a FW model, so will there be a double BA next wave release in January? It looks chunkier than the current furioso.

This looks like someone cut the head off a thunderhawk, shoved a dorsal beam up it's arse, then bolted some wings and engines on and said "Yeah, that'll probably fly. Let's go get lunch." It's not a storm raven. It's a frigging Space Guppy. Reds

I don't know what december (probably nothing special in december) or february has though.

It's not pretty, and it's not supposed to be.
I'll wait until I see more pictures to decide it's fate for my army, however.

GK are getting released, Skaven and DE are getting a second wave, and there's some Fantasy stuff I'm not particularly bothered enough to remember. That's what's on deck for the next few months, or so I hear. No more BA.
Besides, aside from the Stormraven and maybe a Dread of some type, what models in the BA range don't already exist? They're just another Space Marine army, so 75% of their models are already on sale right off the bat.
@req: Just because it's not supposed to be pretty doesn't mean it has to be that silly looking.

Just imagine the poor dread hanging from the back. The weight might be enough to counterbalance the inevitable forward hang. "Yeah, that'll probably fly. Let's go get lunch." Agreed. Space burgers?

That means the aircraft more or less has to have a dread on it to counter act the fact that 75% of the aircraft's weight seems to be on the front. That's also got to be the least dignified way to deploy a Dread, short of pushing him out of a Thunderhawk Sure, you're a great hero of the chapter, have survived for centuries, and are encased in a life support combat system that we cannot produce anymore, but that's not going to stop us from hanging you like a cheap air freshener from an aircraft as it transitions from space to atmosphere... The design is flawed, is what I'm sayingReds

The design is flawed, is what I'm sayingReds Welcome to the 41st millennium, where the men are men (unless they worship Slaanesh), the women are fire-obsessed lunatics, and the children are the conscripts. And the vehicles make no logical sense so long as you apply real-world design and physics.
