A new picture appeared in the net. Unfortunately, it does not show the rear section of the model. Enjoy the picture. -Magg

It actually doesn't look as bad at that angle.

It'd look quite good as a piece of terrain, downed stormraven front sticking out of the ground etc. It's proportionality is a bit out in my opinion, but in spite of it's ugliness, it's at the very least a good base for some awesome conversions.

For those of you not based in the UK and who aren't parents, I heartily recommend you research a childrens TV show called Octonauts and check out the Gup-B. I think Games Workshop definitely did.

I'm still going to reserve judgement till I see it in person. The pictures I've seen so far make it seem... terrible. But I'll put that down to perspective, and the two dimensional nature of viewing models on a computer screen. *raises fist in mock warning* You better be good in real life damn you!

*Prepares Gabriel Lupus for crushing disappointment* I've barely been able to touch my Blood Angels since the new codex came out, and I'm afraid that the Space Guppy is only going to exacerbate the effect.

Im not a fan when GW make space marine kit for one chapter. Granted they have their own special Characters, and their extra or different rules to set them appart, but at the end of the day they are the same army. If one space marine force has a vehicle, then they all should as far as im concerned.
Other than that, im not excited about this model. Dont know if ill like it or not. Normally Im excited about new 40k stuff but not this time.

I'm sure when the next Smurf codex comes out that all Marines will be able to take it. GW needs to exploit the rest of the Marine players out there and get them to purchase the kit as well.

I also think that the Stormraven will be included in the next Space Marine/Dark Angles/Black Templars Codex etc. Maybe it will be included even earlier. Rumours say that there will be more flyers released for the other races, too. The rules will be published in the White Dwarf like the rules of the Night Spinner. (I personally pray for a Nightwing ) -Magg

Night spinner? That sounds dangerous. What if someone gets hurt?

I know that GW would like to/is creating an expansion that encourages the use of flyers. I learned this about three months ago, so if they are working on it now, that means that it will be out sometime in fall/winter 2011. I can't give more info, I didn't get much more than this.

Oh sounds intresting. So does that mean we could expect more flyers for the guard too? I think some forge world flyers should be made into plastics!

I think some forge world flyers should be made into plastics! *Eyes his resin FW Thunderbolt that has been languishing partially painted for several years now* Yes, that would be awesome. Most awesome, indeed. I'd love to see a plastic Marauder Destroyer... But only if GW stayed true to the FW sculpts when making plastic versions. *Drools*

Unless they suddenly came up with the idea to do a Vendetta Gunship kit, although it really isn't needed. We don't have any other flyers.

Pfrt. Space Winnebago does not do it for me. My Valkyries would eat that thing for breakfast. Then airlift the dreadnought into battle themselves.

If I drool anymore at the thought of FW plastics, then this forum will be flooded! *Hooks soap up to a drool diverting device of some sort* I am still so disappointed with the Space Guppy. I was really hoping to be able to add something cool looking to my Blood Angels, and possibly re-spark my interest in working on them again, but alas it was not to be. So I shall continue to focus on my Guard instead!

Hmmm … a Marauder would be fun, but I do not think that bigger flyers will be published soon. They are in any case for Apocalypse games only. I think that the smaller ones like the Thunderbolt, the Nightwing, the Barracuda and the flyer of the Dark Eldar (maybe this will be a combined box for Eldar and Dark Eldar?) are candidates for new plastic kits *crosses fingers* The Dark Eldar Codex leads the way here. The flyers are fast skimmers with some heavy weapons. Although this might change the play style of some armies (air cavalry armies for Imperial Guard for example) I do not think that this will be unfair or overpowered especially if every army gets their fighters. Night spinner? That sounds dangerous. What if someone gets hurt? If?!? Look here! Back on topic: At least the models gives a foundation for conversion work. The model has all the characteristics that SpaceMarine vehicle have, which means a blocky silhouette and the weapon housings etc. There is a lot you can do with plastic card. Cheers! -Magg EDIT: Fixed the link
