They play football of course ;D I have been trying to get the wife back into some table top games and she suggested that I get together our old Bloodbowl teams and we can play that again.. so taking that I have the game but all my models are still in Canada.. ( ask your mother to bring all the parts and she forgets the most important ones to play the damn game.. typical ) so I figured this is a great chance then to make my own.. Since I have a ton of unassembled guardsmen.. I figured the first army would be to make a human team.. and I just ordered up a box of Beastmen Gor/Ungors so figure I can make a beasts team as well to compliment it.. So here are pics of my first player.. the Thrower and QB of the team.. will call him John McClane only because I just finished watching Die Hard 4... So whatcha all think? Good start? I know I need to fix that damn football in his hand but I am waiting for the putty to dry.. am wondering if he needs more to him though? Spikes and such considering that he is the thrower and shouldn't be tackling too much.. Previewing the pictures now I can see the piece of hair stuck to his shoulder but that will be easy to remove.. Comments and such are highly welcome.. Cheers Gris

I cut the parts off the helmet to make it more smooth.. all the little bits like the eagle, the side bits and the back piece as well.. its a cadian model in whole actually just with GS thrown on it to make it look different..

Thanks.. I shaved down the padding a bit last night but then got bored and watched anime instead.. for some reason reading subtitles and filing/cutting GS off models is harder than it looks.. ask my thumb.. I think I am going to give painting this a go before I start work on the next 2 guys so that I can get an idea not only about what worked but also if the painting of the GS work is good enough or if I need to add more details for it to really shine.. Will post results when I have some Probably this weekend.. Gris

It took me day plus one night to make the guy.. and now that I know what I should do and not do for the next ones it can probably go faster and I will probably work on 2 or more at the same time.. like the catchers together, the blitzers together, the linemen together.. so that they look similiar.. since they seem to change from model to model when i leave too much time between them.. Anyways here are some pictures.. First one is of the team that I am replacing.. player by player.. And now a few pics of the first player.. my QB and center player of my team.. player 01 Little picture heavy but I think it gives a good look at the model from some different angles.. Lots of shading on the padding.. free hand numbers, and his special helmet design that I was trying to copy from Eyeshield 21 the anime if anyone knows it Anyway.. more to come.. going to start work on the 2 catchers next.. will start on them tomorrow.. with most of tomorrow going to be working on scrapping parts off of the guardsmen that my ballers dont need.. Comments and such are well welcome Gris

So here are some more WIP shots of my catchers and my other team the Beasts of Football.. I still need to work on the catchers hands.. but the positioning is almost what I want.. just need to twist one here and try to make it open up a bit with some GS work.. The Ungors are turning out good as well.. just need to GS a bit of their necks and add some fur on their back a bit and I think they are ready to get primed up.. So here are the pics then.. So yeah comments, critiques and what not welcome.. Cheers Gris

I am currently making up the first 4 Gor models now.. I have them on the bases with their arms figured out but I still need to figure out how to add padding to them.. and spikes.. once they are finished then I will begin on the Beastigors while I slowly work on the human team here.. The Beasts are easier at the moment due to the little need for padding and such.. so its more about the pose than the GS work.. but the HUmans are getting the full work up deal.. once I finish up the 2 catchers then I will begin work on the 4 linemen.. I hope to have full teams completed before the end of summer.. will be nice to have 4 teams to pick from and play with at that time as well.. Thanks for the comments.. will post more when I get a chance.. busy weekend ahead.. 2 weddings means lots of drinking this weekend Cheers Gris

Thanks mate.. its supposed to be a flaming bat from an anime I watch ( eyeshield 21 ) but the effect is still cool Speaking of eyeshield.. I am trying my first one there on the catcher and will see how it turns out.. might try more of them depending on the comments, and how well it turns out for being painted and such as well.. Cheers Gris

Well done, They all look very good. You should be proud of those. Never tried bloodbowl though, looking at those I'll have to look into it a bit more. Sounds lke a fun game. The specialist game I am most interested in at the moment is Necromunda though, do any of you guys play? I have been concidering starting.

Necromunda is a cool game.. have played it before.. make sure to take plenty of flamers and a heavy bolter as your heavy weapon.. best combos.. and always double team where possible.. being a solo rambo is never going to work out.. unless you like meeting with the reaper often Anyways.. I got 4 of my Gor Linemen almost finished now.. just hav to add a symbol in their belt buckle.. not sure what to put there but I will figure something out.. have to do the same for the ungors as well.. So these guys are turning out well.. the next 4 for my beasts team is the 4 beastigors.. which will be really armored up models.. probably kinda along the lines of the Gors here but with big spikey shoulder pads.. Also I have decided on a color scheme for them as well.. Purple skin with black fur and white padding/cloth.. a kind of slannesh feel to them.. So yeah.. the catchers I think I will begin to paint soon since they are pretty much finished.. I am giving up on the open hands for them.. I tried a few samples and they didnt turn out that good.. so will play it safe for the moment and not do it to them.. Cheers Gris
