Nice colour scheme, makes a change from all the bright tau you see. I like your tank commanders too, that is an area i put a lot of effort into on my models.

These are some of the nicest Tau that I've ever seen, and I approve of all the Forge World goodness that you have packed into this army!

Lots of well painted Forge World figures, some classic older Tau models (I'm looking at you Stealth Suits!), and some great posing/painting. As someone who dabbled with the Tau, I approve.

Very much an Urban Death colour scheme - liking it a lot! Being as I've just started a small Tau force, you may well be the man to ask...
Did you find any logic or reference etc for Tau Squad markings? The little lines on the armour that's supposed to be the colour of the Sept they come from - Is there a reference anywhere you could point me at?
So sorely tempted to get some of the Forgeworld variant Battlesuits now...

In the tau book there is letter to letter (alphabet) what each symbol means, I ignored it and just put decals on where I think it will look cool. Tau culture tend to be very orderly, so I didn't do any free hand on them.

This is a very well painted collection. I love the colour scheme, the FW stuff and the older Stealthsuit pattern.

I love the Paint job... but the forgeworld gear doesn't really do it for me...

Loving the forge world stuff. two things; Where'd Aun'Va go? I bought a pig suit recently and was wondering, Why don't they have wings like other Xv9s?

I never had Aunva, I got the lot in an auction without him, and personally like it that way, there are 2 variations of the xv9 wings, one with thruster and the other with wing like thrusters.

Would it be fair to assume that your IG force are in fact in thrall with the greater good ?

Would it be fair to assume that your IG force are in fact in thrall with the greater good ? your assumption is right, my IG is the forces left behind after the crusade, the emperor had abadon them, they sought a new and probably better home and life.

The gue'vesa look brilliant. I love the conversion on the left who is holding a pulse carbine.
Are you using allied IG rules or the old gue'vesa unofficial entry thing for your list?

Lovely! Clean yet they look ... veteran.
Why did you convert another spotter for the drones?

I'm using the old unofficial rule where there could be 2 tau weapons, sgt could have markerlight, I mostly model and paint them for fun, maybe use them in a fluffy scenario. If I take IG allies, I would just take my regular IG.

Lovely! Clean yet they look ... veteran. Why did you convert another spotter for the drones? Its because I hate clones, 2 is enough, and I wanted to make a leader for the team. I am quite fond of the conversion, as the tau is visibly standing in the open, but the stealth field from the stealth suits set are hiding him. He is also armed with a eldar side arm that came with the Mordheim Amazons for some reason, as his pulse pistol. I sold off the spare spotter.

Ahhh.... I try to do that too, must be tricky with finecast. I saw a guide on pulse carbine to pulse pistol conversions a while ago, looked real good so I did a similar model using the tank commander's body. but that was many a year' ago...

The Riptide is decent, I hate the tiny head. I will pick one up in any case along with the new range of models.

unfortunately for me ive just sold my tau as im trying to stick to a few armies until they are all painted up, I may still buy a riptide on its own though. I suppose the head is small though because its a battle suit inside a battlesuit, would be cool if when the hull points are gone on the main suit a xv9 can jump out and carry on the fight

The guy that designed it said that he wanted to give a sense of size because the head is the same size as standard battlesuit ones but I think it just looks stupid
