Christmas is almost here! The right time for another Christmas Jigsaw from ForgeWorld. First part reveals a tank … maybe for a huge flame-thrower or a chemical weapon? Second part shows the back part of the main weapon, but it does not create clarity about the function of the weapon. The rest of the tank, especially the sponsons, track guards and the track itself have similarities to the other tanks of the death korp of Krieg. Here are the pieces put together: Since it will be released in 2011, it will coincide with the new Imperial Armour book about the Badab war. I know that Inquisitor Jarndyce Frane and some inquisitorial stormtrooper units were involved, but I do not know if and when how many guard regiments were deployed. Sure there has to be a Badab PDF, but would they have Krieg pattern tanks? It could also be that this release is independent to the new book, but to be honest, I do not think so. ForgeWordl is very strict with its publishing-policy when it comes to new books: Keep the heat on with new products. What do you think of this new tank? Cheers! -Magg

Well, the trailer does look like some kind of fuel tank, but the main body looks more like its carrying a large energy weapon. I was kind of thinking of something I saw on the History Channel as I was flipping around the other day- a WWII fighter pilot talking about how Tiger tanks were so big that they actually had to be deployed with a towed fuel trailer for field operations, and the best way to take them out of the war was to destroy the trailer while the tank was out in the middle of nowhere. So, maybe its just some enormous cannon with a decorative fuel tank.
If I remember correctly, the main part of the Badab War that the Inquisition took part in was ship-to-ship fighting, and attacking the Astral Claws' fortress at the very end of the war, so its probably something close quarters/siege/urban focused.

To be honest, I hope not that it is just a decorative fuel tank. That would be a lot of fuss about nothing (or lets say, nothing spectacular that earns to be introduced though a Jigsaw puzzle ... although the maingun could pull it around). My bets are still on a bigger version of the Hellhound/Bane Wolf. (The Hellstorm template needs some love ) A point that indicates that I back the wrong horse is that the promethium tank of the Hellhound is already larger than the one on the trailer. I am still surprised that the new Jigsaw is not about some SpaceMarine character, since Badab is only about SpaceMarines and Renegades, but that may be because nearly every new one has already been seen on various GoldenDemons. -Magg

We don't know that the gun isn't bigger than the hellhound's.

My guess is this is right but with a huge flamer weapon. It will either be an inferno cannon like 3ff3ct said, or it will be something new. Maybe an evil inferno cannon style, titan size chem cannon? Melt everything!

I'm still waiting for the table-sized template.

The middle part looks like a Malcador, kind of.
As for the question of whether it's marine or guard, I'd lay down on it being some kind of guard pdf list, like Magg said. IA books usually have 2 lists in them, anyway. Does anyone remember rumours... ages ago... about some kind of resin Tallarns? Well if they do that tank I seriously hope they do a resin Tallarn range. Fingers crossed. The lasguns on the FW Tallarns are quality pieces.

Judging by the presence of track guards, the off centre top hatch and what looks like a single centre-line cannon it looks far more likely to be a valdor conversion than a malcador. I'm just hoping is is slightly temperamental like the valdor, with a chance of exploding burning promethium over your own guys.

It's a Valdor/Malcador chassis, which is mostly used by the Renegades of Vraks list, and the extraneous fuel tank is pretty much certainly for some kind of flamethrower or chemical thrower weapon.

I would say flamer/chemical weapon, or maybe a HUGE plasma or laser cannon? Thus the generator/fuel tank

Riddle is solved. I see a Hellstorm template for Christmas for me Despite what the E-Mail said, it looks more like a Valdor tank hunter variant to me (could it be that the Valdor is just a Malcador variant? I do not have the Vraks series … Lexicanum says yes ...). The same flat profile and the off centre weapon mount. The only thing that is different is the gun and the fuel tank. What do you think now? -Magg

I want ten of these! That looks epic. I will definitely buy one if I ever get the chance. I really like the tanks that Forgeworld has been producing lately.

Yep that is a modified valdor. Then again, a valdor is a modified malcador anyway. Looks good, i wonder if it can throw it's template like a hellhound or if it is like a normal flamer. I'm guessing it can use it at range but not as far as a titan can. 12" maybe?

As a reward for your accurate divination, your whistle has been imbued with the power of fire! You can now whistle a small flame at will. May hurt the lips though...
