nice work. I like the concept and idea you are working with. Question is can you move a bane blade over it?

Thanks for the replies. I am working on a T intersections just now. But it seems the most stable turn are 90 degrees corners.
About the Baneblade, I would guess that you couldn't. There isn't much room left after a LMRB. But I guess you could just as easily build these in a size fit for Baneblades. Perhaps you will need double rows of Pringles to keep the balance though.

A great idea! How much are you going to build? This would be great for a hive city set up, with multiple layers. T I prefer to play with big cans myself, but small can sometimes look better. ;D

mardaddy: 10 LOOK AT "Walrus answer" 20 GOTO 10. @3ffect: I don't really have a plan but I am considering 3 long straight pieces, 3 ramps and 2 T-junctions.

You mind if I steal your idea? I am just about to set up my own gaming board so Im scouring the board for ideas lol.
Great work by the way. Have you thought about making on and off ramps?

You are welcome to steal the idea. Isn't pic nr3 a on and off ramp?

I ment like a slip road, so you can have access to join the hightend road midway, rather than just at the start and end of the road.
Thanks by the way. I dont know when I will get chance to start work on my table, but hopefully soon, and like you I will post WIP pics!

hmmm...actually the idea is compelling. I had rather just thought about using either a high road or low road, never about combining them. So now I will have to think about how to make a on off between them.

I think I will go for just a single level road, probs half pringle tube hight, with on and off ramps coming up from ground level and have each end of the highway run to the edge of the gaming table rather than have the ramps you have in the pic above.
Glad iv give you food for thought lol.

I knew I saved those Pringles cans for some reason. Sadly, I ditched the lids. But great idea! Consider it stolen.
What I'd like to know, though, is what you used the thin card for. Did you use it to cover the road? I can't really see. Also, what dimensions did you use?

syphon: The card is mainly used for walls, see pic nr 4. And to cover the gaps between different sections of the roads.

Ok. And how did you paint them, if at all? I am looking at my version ( a double-wide one, big enough for two Chimeras to sit side by side with a bit of space left). I'm just wondering specifically about the pringles cans. Do you plan to wrap it in something, because I figure the contours of the cardboard outside would be easily visible.

I just spackeled it up a little, add some grey spray primer and it is good for quick gaming. Later I while find different shades of grey to use.

I prefer to play with big cans myself, but small can sometimes look better. Hehehehehe... I'm totally taking this quote out of context. ;D In all seriousness, though, this looks like a pretty cool modeling project. I'm looking forward to seeing what they look like painted!

Syphon get your pics up of the double highway. Does it look good or is it over powering on the gaming board?
What happened about roughcoat? I used it on a few of my tanks to give them abit of a rough look rather than a sleek look you get with just normal spray. Im indifferent about the results but wouldnt recommend it.
You can get that plaster in a roll rather than a powder so maybe that would work well with the road supports? Just cut to size, wet, then apply to support and give it a rub down to make sure the plaster powder is spread. That could work well to give a concrete look?
Also, anyone though about adding extra decoration to the roads? Maybe pipes and cables under the roads, street lights above (with working lights?). Oh im gonna have a bash at that! When I get the stuff I need and the time!

Actually one thing that I considered and left space for is "slip-in" walkways on the side. They where meant to be made out of "1mm steel with small holes in it" (Sorry I do not know what it is called in forignese). They would be walkways for infantry.
The reason for that kind of steel where. 1. Looks great and futuristic. 2. Stability.

You mean like a service walk way? That would look pritty cool. I think for that to work better in game, rather than just look good, it should be two units wide so you could have so good 'gangway' fights. (Gangway... is that the word you where looking for?) Or have two of said gangways either side of the road for shooty fights.

Pictures of my project: Quality is surprisingly bad but it's very hard to make steady pictures when you have to contend with a 3 month old puppy when taking pictures from a low vantage point.
