Those priests are intense! No spawn of Chaos would even think of messing around with them. I'm trying to figure out a way to incorporate all the different characters of the IG in my Death Korps of Krieg army. I love the gasmask and respirators that Kriegsman wear, I just dont want to have to form a respirator for every psyker or priest I incorporate in my list. GS is pretty expensive... plus I dont even know if DKoK even use these characters, need to get my hands on a copy of IA v.5 (even though I hear all the rules, points, etc. are outdated)

Thanks about the priests. I wish I could use them more, but alas, they tend to stay inside my case. As far as converting Death Korps special characters, use your imagination! Or some simple head swaps, there are a ton of good companies that may model heads with gas masks. Of course, the Cadian Command Sprue has 5 respirators that could be used if you want. I did some more work on my motorized Rough riders. I was able to kit bash a rough rider who has special weapons. The weapons are magnetized for ease of swapping (and providing options, a must for me). Now I just need to work on the windshield, and mount to a base. Here are the separate parts: motorcycle, rider, plasma gun, melta gun, and flamer Rough Rider with Flamer Rough rider with Melta gun Rough Rider with Plasma gun And here is another shot showing the rider pressing a button to shoot one of the variant guns...

A great idea, although I think they're a bit 'long' in my opinion.

I agree, and will be making changes to them instead. Most likely a side car for gunners, I have a lead on one. I should have posted this months ago, but for my birthday back in Feb I got a Valkyrie kit. Its been put together, and I finished priming it black this morning. It will be that flay grey that all of my vehicles are, with some olive highlights. Call sign will be "Sky King 01". Here's the Valkyrie: The top can come off so I can a) paint inside, and b) provide interesting wreckage if I need it, and c) enable storage of its various guns and missiles. The ramp was magnetized. I added a piece of sprue to the back, and added the magnets there and lined it up with the ramp as well. The sprue also provides some stability and support to the model itself. After seeing these tutorials on chin turrets, I knew that I wanted to do the same for my Valkyrie. I followed the tutorial, and after it was cut out, I added some more sensors to the front using parts of a vox caster, and magnetized the turret. I can put a Lascannon (from a Sentinel) ... ... or a Multi-laser there. The multi-laser is not great, but it works for my purposes. The Las cannons were easy enough. I used a regular Las Cannon, and chopped off the barrel, then turned it upside down. I magnetized it, and took off the skull, since it was now upside down. Easy peasy. The wings are also magnetized for ease of storage, as well as the other lasers, missiles, and rocket pods. I can easily switch from a Valkyrie to a Vendetta and back super easy. More pics once this is painted.

Very awesome! Still trying to figure out how to incorporate Valks/Vendetta's into my Krieg army. I know they weren't really "available" to the Krieg, they usually created their own vehicles for their fighting style, I just love the look of the Valks and Vens.
Any idea's? Send me a PM! Thanks!

I really like the nose gun idea. I may have to steal that.

Sent you a PM, but the answer is: Its your army, equip it as you wish. It could always be another unit remnant that merged with your army, or temporarily assigned, etc. Use your imagination! I think it would be cool to do a bi-plane Valkyrie conversion to fit in with the WWI look of the DoK

The lower fins are on backwards! I did the same thing with the main tail plane when I first built my Valkyries...

I think it looks quite cool the wrong way too, gives more of a feeling of a chopper rather than plane

No IG army should be without a unit of these guys.... a Psyker Battle Squad. They are too good and cheap for what they do. I hate the Sanctioned Psyker models, so I used Empire Flagellants instead. I liked the chained up look, as if the squad had been incarcerated and just released for this battle. I've also did some OSL lighting on the eyes, using some light blue, to show that their minds are fully engaged in the fight. If you go to the first page of my blog, you will see a hand ringing a bell. I noticed that Flagellants all have bells, and I like the tie in to the Army Standard. All Psykers are modeled to have holstered pistols, and knives for close combat weapons. Their sheathes are painted in the olive color of my army to further tie them in. I wasn't sure of what an Overseer would look like, so after asking for some advice, I decided on modeling a Junior Commissar. After all, its his job to shoot a Psyker in the head if he suffers from Perils of the Warp, right? Finally, here are some close ups of some of the models. I noticed the bases were a bit messy, so they have been repainted black to cover the sloppiness.

I love the Overseer. I adopted the Junior Commissar idea for my penal troopers, and have one sort of in progress as well for the psyker squad I'm working on. Yours looks quite nice!

Seconded, the junior commissar looks great in there, you did a good job converting him too! I think I'll be robbing that idea (eventually....!)

Thanks, I appreciate it. The sword arm came from the Commissar with the Plasma pistol that's charging forward. Then, use greenstuff to make epaulets for the other side to match. Ever see a model, and you go.... Man, with a simple head swap I could make a really great conversion! That happened to me yesterday. I ran across a Chaos Sorcerer Lord last night while at my local game store. And I thought.... well, you can read above what I thought, but this will be my Primaris Psyker. I mean, its perfect! I looks crazy, has a sweet looking staff, and a fancy swmancy sheathed sword that can double as his force weapon. So, head swap, check. Added a holstered pistol, check. Repositioned right arm into dynamic pose, check. Replaced chaos symbols with skulls and Imperial Iconography, check. Should be sweet, even if I don't ever end up using him.

He still looks a bit chaos-y because of the armour, although when hes painted to match your army I think it'll be fine. Just say he found it in the 'lost and found' section of the munitorum I love the head swap though, it looks great!

All in all looks really awesome. In the note of what to call the gun, I first read it as Faybreaker, a real cool name against eldars.

Thanks everyone! I'm really happy how they have turned out. As far as the primaris staff, I am considering replacing the head to make it look less chaos-y. Just a quick update here... Here is my Blue Platoon Standard Bearer. I added some greenstuff fringe to the flag, but I think the paint job came out pretty well. The colors on the front match the colors of my army: Olive and Grey. The colors on the back are a tie in to my Company Standard from page one.

Thank you for the comments, guys. It makes painting worthwhile to hear these. I've been able to add Knight Commander Pask to my army recently. Except for me, he is known as Major Jaksun Poole. Knight Commander Pask in a Leman Russ Main Battle Tank Knight Commander Pask in his "main ride", a Leman Russ Exterminator, with Heavy Bolter sponsons and a hull Heavy Bolter Close up on Knight Commander Pask. A great big thanks to Izaak of the Guard website Boot Camp, who volunteered to paint this for me. He did a completely fantastic job, far above and beyond what I had hoped for. I had another eureka moment when I had seen the fine cast model of a Dark Eldar Medusa. The way his hands were being held back screamed "psyker" to me, and since I already had a Psyker Battle Squad and a Primaris Psyker models, I decided to make him my new Astropath. I had traded my old Astropath for some tank parts, and this was lacking in my army. I shaved down some spiky bits, and added some chains from the Empire Flagellants sprue. I also added a close combat knife, and a holstered las pistol. This new resin really holds superglue well, and made attaching plastic parts a snap. Finally, I did a head swap, again from the Empire Flagellants, but this time some work was involved. The head didn't really fit, so I put the head on a piece of paperclip, drilled out a hole for it, and sculpted a "neck" out of brownstuff. Personally, I love the whole "looking-up-and-screaming-to-the-warp" look to this model.
