I hope I can get some help here. Im struggling to find things to build terrain for my gaming board. I have stack loads of polystyrene, thanks to having to fill my house with furnature! But things like plasticard, foam boards etc. Where is the best (and cheepest) place to get them? And where from? Iv tryed internet searching, but Im not exactly sure on what Im looking for and dont want to order stuff for it to be a waste.
Any help would be amazing!
Thanks!

Go to places like joan fabrics and ac moore. If your not sure what you want to use just buy a little, try different things out on small projects and see what you like. Start small projects while you figure out what you want, so if you mess up its not a big deal.
A lot of stuff is personal preference, and don't purchase foamboard and things like that online...shipping will kill you.

Craft stores are your best bet. Perhaps modelling stores (as in those with model trains and stuff) will have a few things, too.

If there's a hobbycraft near you they are ok for mount card, and do a fair ammount of other things for all sorts of craft types, dont just look in the trains and wargaming area.
Last time in there i got a load of wire for pinning, and some awsome stiff for long grass and reeds etc out of the flower arranging section.
Another option is some of the cheap book stores, they do some kids modelling kits which have heavy card and plastic sheet in.
Hope that helped ...

I agree with the guys before. Try doing a Yell.com search for craft stores in your local area.
I also assume you have a hobby store/GW handy to have found your way into the hobby? If so, try asking the staff (or other customers) there where they get their supplies.
Happy to be of any help I can,
Starche

I find bitz and kits to be a useful site, especially if you want to mail order. They sell bitz for fantasy and 40k, tools and plasticard. www.bitsandkits.co.uk/

Also, depending on what you want to build, you could be amazed at just the junk in your garage. If you play 40K, you should be developing a fairly enormous bitz box - and even just sticking a few aquilas, spare doors and antennae onto a cracked piece of polystyrene will look good if you paint it right. Look at the Ork Barricades sold by GW - it's easy to make something that small yourself. A circuit board, a tire from one of your kid's toy trucks, a rock from the back yard, and a vehicle accessory kit can make any number of kewl rubble piles...

Honestly, I let nature help out. Old branches and small twigs can be fallen logs and dead trees. Interesting rocks, twine cut down for long grass, sand from a sandbox on a playground, rusted metal pieces, etc. Use cardboard, or foam trays that protect TVs or other electronics can be useful as well. You may laugh (and its expensive) but Games Workshop How to Build Terrain is a good book to have. And finally, there is this list of stores that sell terrain
