Do you mean what gear, or what bodies?
For gear, I'd say lots of Flamers and shotties, since those are what tend to be used fluff wise. Carapace would probably be a good choice too, since there's not much sense in camo cloaks, and meltabombs and demo charges might blow a hole in the ship.
For bodies, it's up to you. I recall a picture of a Cadian model from an orbital defense regiment in the old Codex, and Elysians have lots of pirates in their home system, as I recall, so either of those would work. Just make sure they have respirators and the like (just in case there's a hull breach).

Well the Valkyrie gunners are a good basis for starship detail vets, especially if you're going for carapace. The Elysian heads and lasguns might be nice touches as well. Hope this helps!

Point defense weapons on Imperial starships tend to be larger caliber weapons, like Quad Autocannons, Multilasers, or Vulcan Megabolters, mounted on the hull with the gunner safely inside the vessel. I'm not sure a Saber would be something mounted on a starship. a Hydra platform would probably be closer.

The uniform was gray, with darker gray flak, as I recall. The model had no special gear or anything, since it was just to showcase the colors. I'll try to run down a PDF of it for you so you can see.

Here you go. Check pg 33 of the PDF. I got it mixed up, it seems. The armour is light gray and the uniform is dark gray. Yes, I know there's rules against posting PDFs, but GW doesn't sell this anymore so I figured it'd be okay.Edit: And the Amazing Rocket Man saves the day again! Reds

oh i have this codex lol i thought it was an even older one so the colors look good now the question is should i make it look like normal guardsman i wanted to give them a more uniformed feel like what do you guys think of this
-------- parts to use
Catachan Legs Cadian Officer bodies(w/o Flak armor like the ones on the tanks and stuff) Cadian Officer arms(no shoulder pads) The Sargents however would get flak armor Tank Crew Lasguns(ones with Folded back stocks) Forge World Respirator heads Make the Bases like Starship Floor somehow mabey one of these companies that sell bases Elysan Equipment(to show they have lots of equipment so they dont have to resupply) Elysan Jump Packs Sargents will vary i will give them fluff and all
i want to give them a light infantry feel do you think this will look ok or what?
thanks both of you guys i will use that scheme except i will paint the helemt orange to match my scheme

I love the idea of folding stock Lasguns, those are just so cool and seem very functional! I'm not sure about flamers though, imagine shooting that at a target maybe 6 feet away in a confined metal tunnel with men all around you and xenos in front...I'd be a little worried about roasting myself at that point, but perhaps you could design a "super shotgun" that functions exactly like a flamer in terms of profile but it fires powerful anti personel slugs that go through their targets? It might be safer in such an environment. Anyways I think your choice of parts is a good one, it's also cool to use officer chests for your troopers, but they may just end up looking like Mordians, not that that's a bad thing I eagerly await your creation!

i was thinking Grenade Launchers beacuse the frag grenades can take infantry ou but its not powerfull enough to break the hull
what about Snipers, and Plasma guns?
also i will make Stubber teams

Err snipers would be useless inside a ship unless you're fighting inside the hangars or large spaces, but in the many corridors and hallways which are likely to be on the edge of the ship (where boarders arrive) will be much much too cramped. Grenades would work, since they are more aimable than a flamer. Plasmas might just melt the hull...but would be vital against MEQs so a veteran unit might just have them for giggles.
A stubber/heavy bolter would be able to hold a hallway for a long long time, making it invaluable, this is a good addition!

Most of what I'm drawing on is from the 40k Rogue Trader RPG book Fantasy Flight put out. Flamers are popular for boarding actions because it makes people run like hell away. There's also something called a "Shotcannon" which is, as Ferrum describes, a super shotgun. Aside from that, a Heavy Stubber would probably be the only other crew served weapon you'd find used on spaceships by the Armsmen.

IIRC from several books that I have read, shotcannons are another weapon that vessel defense crews use. Basically it's a shotgun on crack, and makes me think about what Ogryn Ripper guns were like back in second edition...

I would just mount a ripper gun on a tripod! That would look really cool I think, but if it's that large it might be a better heavy flamer counts as. Perhaps a multi laser but I would think energy weapons wouldn't be as common due o their more volatile impacts, a ML is a little strong even for such a use. Mortars are not going to work, unless you convert it to a larger forward firing grenade launcher! That could be cool, but it wouldn't explain it's scatter... My vote is for the "Shotcannon"

Hrm... Trooper1974 made some "Hunting Cannons" for his Catachans. They could be quite excellent shotcannons. Maybe shoot him a PM and ask him how he did it.

Yup, marbo PMed me, and I explained what I did. I will try to take pictures of my hunting cannons in the next few days, and post them here. The pic quality probably isn't going to be very good though... I'm thinking for the shotcannon, perhaps you might want to shorten the barrels, as the hunting cannons are pretty massive.
