leman russ Destroyer conversion

i have decided to try and put together a destroyer, but frankly i want to make my own rather than buying a forge world.
i have the leman russ tank, but thats it.
any suggestions to get started?

Pretty much use the standard build for a Leman Russ, and rather than using the standard Main Cannon, you could replace it with the barrel from a basilisk.

yeah id probably make it the way syphon described....but if you want to make it look like the one from forge world, then mount the cannon on the hull.

I've seen some guys do it on like a chimera chassis (i think) and it looked just like the one from forge world.

Just use a Leman Russ chassis, leave the turret off and stick a larger and thicker barrel where the hull mounted lascannon/heavy bolter should go.

ive found a few thicker barrels that im considering, thing is they are all kinda plain, any good ideas to 'tech' them up abit, make them blend with the rest of the tank?
i was thinking a greenstuff canvas 'bag' around the base of the cannon, like on forward mounted bolters on chimaers.

i fully plan to have no turret and have it sticking from the lasgun sponsor. it reminds me of my fave tank, the german StuG

i was also considering using the sponsors i have free now, to make a frame around the base of the cannon.
anyone got any other ideas?

since i have no sponsors i plan to add ww2 style armor skirting too.

Marker pens make good barrels

Hmm, bassie barrel would work, but WOZ has a good idea with marker tubes.

Hmm, the destroyer looks like its got the chassis of the leman russ but a trimmed down top piece of the chimera chassis on the top.

Yeah, pens and markers are handy for making barrels, that's how I made my vanquisher.
