Spawn's Blog: 301st Cadian "Bolts"

The sun burned a bright blue overhead, lighting the path. The heavy weapons team humped down the mountain trail into a superior firing position. The small natural dais overlooked the battlefield in its entirety. A squelch came through the comm. bead in the ammo carrier’s ears. He nodded to the gunner, who began to set up shop. A few minutes later the feeder on the Auto cannon was pumping rounds into the orkish lines like it had nothing to lose. The sounds of battle reached the team, even up as high as they were. The furious yells of the ork as they charged made an involuntary shiver creep down the gunner’s spine. He gritted his teeth as the gun clicked empty, he pondered why the auto-cannons have such small clips while ejecting the spent drum. He looked down and saw the Leman Russ open fire into the tide of green. It literally tore the green skins limb from limb. The spotter chuckled as he sighted upon the tank. He had been ordered to spray paint the company designation on the tank the other cycle, and he painted an E rather than a 3...a simple joke he said. But the gunner knew better, he knew he was hammered that night. But it didn’t matter if they didn’t live to se the next dawn. He slapped a fresh drum in and prayed to the emperor that no Orks would look up. He squeezed on the firing studs and steeled himself against the rhythmic ‘boom boom boom’ of the cannon. A veritable wall of lasbeams issued from the platoon below, cutting the orks down massively. But yet they came on. But hey, War is hell. And the 301st Cadian “Bolts” show fear to no man, xenos, nor daemon, they are legion, and they will not accept a loss. Fear the Fist of the Emperor, fear the 301st!

Welcome to the forum spawn, i must say the 301st are an awesome bunch! like the camo scheme. cant wait to see them on the troops too!

Good use of standard Cadians. Why convert?
I'd personally add a few streaks of lighter blues on the side of the bolts, to make them more pronounced.

I didnt really like that tamk because the blue strokes werent painted good enough, add few layers of blue on them, so that the black undercoat doesnt showup behind the blue lines. Hope you can understand what i´m saying. Otherwise its looking good.

Yes i do understand, it's a very much WIP

plus was looking for advice anyways ^_^

I pln to neaten up the bolts and add a few highlights to them. ALong with finishing the tracks, Skullz with wings and preety much everything else...
