O.k, to make my veterans look different from my normal guard, I'm doing some conversions Here are some ideas I've had 1) Any chain swords attached to the arm 2) A little "cloak" on the Sergeant (will use "green stuff") 3) Ork and Tau trophies hanging from the sword 4) A parrot on one of the plasma gunners shoulders (Again, "green stuff") 5) One with a Lascannon`attached to is shoulder ( I may give him Bionics! Once more some green stuff for wires leading to a vox caster with no antenna's and a couple of las batteries attached)

Sounds like some good ideas. Few things I used to add more character to my vets. Non standard kit, cowboy, wooly, etc. hats. More nades, ammo packs and back backs if u have them. Entended barrel and magazine to pistols, rifles, etc. Extending the barrel of a las pistol, increasing the mag size and add a folding style stock looks pretty sweet.

Omg, extended las pistols would look totally spec ops! Also, try using medals, purity seals, stuff like that!

Give them backpacks as well. Since they can infiltrate they`ll need to carry extra supplies so they can live out in the field longer, giving them more time to get into position.

Do not attach any chainswords to the arms, it looks bad.(i have expirience from marines). But otherwise those ideas are kinda cool. One way to add some character are the battledamage. Just scratch armorpads with clippers and paint it, it looks cool.

Oh yeah, chipped paint on armour, sooo easy to do and looks v cool. Really adds character. I also found that using a good mix of Cadian infantry, heavy weapon and catachan parts can add variety really easily. SM scout parts can also be added pretty easily, like heavy bolter, bolt pistols, shot guns (these look awesome), different ammo packs, even the heads for sargents. SM scouts have some really cool vertical packs that when added to a guardsman look just like combat webbing. Basically anything that looks like older, or non standard issue equipment looks great, and if u don't have much, u can alwawys just over load them with grenades I don't have my vets with me ATM cos I'm aborad, will take some pics and post em later (well end of the month). Thing Woz started a really gd thred with pics of his excellent vets.

Try giving them knives at the boot, it looks great. side arms, give em a holstered autopistol at the hip or wrapped around the leg.

Those are some pretty good ideas! I just got my hands on some SM scout bitz from a friend and I've been putting them to good use. I really want to put some catachan arms on cadian troops to give them the whole veteran look...
