Ok, so the twin linked rockets are great for slapping rear armour and heavy troops, and the re-rolls for misses are great. What about twinlinked shootas for strafing infantry? Kustom mega-blastas for MEQs/armour? (less accurate, better AP) Buzzsaws? Bombs? Id love some cool conversions in my army, although I am reluctant to make them if theyre going to be... well... crap Please share your thoughts and enlighten me!

Deffkoptas to me are for one thing only, blasting marines to poop.
For this they need TL rokkits, so move, shoot assault, all dead, move a bit more, yay.
I've tried (and still have 7 of them) the big shoota variant, and its poop.
They're too expensive and too fragile for me to put any more points into, so I haven't used Kustom Blastas or Bomms.
The rokkits can also blast rear armour, so have a use beyond marine killing, where as most other builds don't.
I wish you could put skorchas on them...

My sister usually takes a couple for our 800 point games, she has tended to use them with rokkits and then turbo boast them into my face so I have to dedicate a fair bit of fire power to shoot them down: Not exactly subtle.
Last game we played though she was fed up of them dying as a diversion and paid for four Koptas with shootas and plunked them in the midst of some ruins where they were in range of my units (which were all infantry except for a Demolisher and an A-Sentinel) they were there for almost the whole game whittling away at my smaller units while other units competed for my best guns’ attention. I dislodged them with a Demolisher shell that scattered off of a Deff Dread near the end but they were one of the most effective units in her army for that game.

From what I've seen others do a Bomm can sometimes be fun, but the buzzsaw is totally not worth it...

Points-wise the buzzsaw looks too expensive. The rokkit launchas sound better than the big shootaz, mainly because of the mech threat.

I sometimes use 1 or 2, on their own.
If I have first turn I use the scout move (24inch) to hopefully get me into 1st turn assault range (autohit with buzzsaw)
So that should be a dead tank or very crippled tank
If I go 2nd I have them outflanking

I've taken buzzsaws on my koptas. Even twin linked rokkets are not a sure thing with an ork's BS. The saws are there to do what the rokkits don't..but yeah, if I'm looking to save points they are the first thing I'll drop. Deffkoptas get shot out of the sky pretty quickly in most games, they're really good at being a big distraction to your opponent.

My guess is that the buzzsaw is good if you are being dead sneaky with your copptas and you keep them alive long enough to use it. After all you are paying power klaw points for a power klaw so if you use the Deffkoptas' speed and toughness to get it where you want a klaw then it is job done. If you are using your kopptas as a diversion then it is a waste since they draw about as much attention without it but cheaper.
