Here is a piece I made that inspired the Fluff behind my 20000 pt, 788 model IG army.

Here is The Fluff:
During the climactic battle of a Chaos Daemon incursion on the planet Ho’vas Secundus, Daemon Huntress Katrina von Lahr’rayne smote off the head of the daemon prince Daartheil Abbaam with the Glaive of Reckoning. This heroic act of martial prowess effectively ended the incursion, saved the populace, earned her the title “Heroine of the Empire,” and spawned a legion of adoring followers whose devotion to Katrina rivaled that of their devotion to the Emperor.
Numerous shrines, from the expansive Basilica of the Heroine in the capital city of Si’vic to smaller chapel like edifices were erected around the planet to honor her bravery and heroism. The focal point of each shrine was a statue in the likeness of Katrina herself. However, only the shrine in the otherwise obscure city of Tiavilla, in the Prefecture of Lahr’rayne, Katrina’s birth place, was made from the same locally mined metal as was the blade of her blessed weapon. This statue is also the only one in existence that also depicts her faithful cherub henchman carrying Katrina’s book of faith.
Nearly 1000 years after her glorious victory, the Tiavilla shrine became the site of a purported miracle when once again the forces of Chaos were threatening to devastate the planet and perhaps the entire Ho’vas system. It was a hard fought Imperial victory in a seemingly insignificant battle that turned the tide in favor of the forces of the Emperor.
It happened during the siege of Tiavilla, when the followers of chaos where conducting a massive artillery barrage of Katrina’s home town, a barrage so intense that over 80% of the buildings in the city were either damaged or destroyed. The Shine of Katrina, which local legend says was erected on the spot of her birthplace and childhood home, was among those most heavily damaged; however, the statue within the shrine remained inexplicably unscathed. In fact, in defiance of all logic, the statue seemed to glow with an inner illumination that created a scene of stirring beauty among the devastation.
Driven by the corrupting madness of Chaos or a keen understanding of human psychology and morale, the Chaos general redirected the fire power of the entire barrage against the resilient statute. In an attempt to break the will of the Imperial defenders, thousands of tons of high explosive ordinance rained down upon the glowing likeness of Katrina. After hours of continuous shelling, to the surprise of all, the golden effigy of the purest of heroes not only remained standing defiantly amid the destruction, the glow emanating from its polished surface appeared even brighter and more beautiful than ever.
Emboldened by this “sign from the Emperor” (as well as the respite the redirection of the barrage provided the beleaguered defenders) the Imperial commander, then Kolonel, Field Marshall Darglass Kreb, launched a vigorous albeit desperate counter attack which broke the cultist’s grip on the city. Kolonel Kreb’s forces were also aided by a strange phenomenon of nature when an intense lightening storm struck the tainted force’s artillery batteries in the hills overlooking Tiavilla. During this freak storm numerous rebel artillery pieces and munitions caches were struck and destroyed by powerful bolts of energy from the heavens.
As word of this miracle spread through the ranks of the Imperial Army the beleaguered soldiers took courage and emboldened generals launched counter offenses all along the battlefront. While several more long years of struggle remained before the tainted rebellion was fully quelled, the forces of chaos were to never be victorious on the battlefield again.
The “Miracle of Katrina’s Shrine,” coupled with her heroic actions from nearly one thousand years earlier, led the government of Ho’vas Secundus to submit Katrina von Lahr’rayne to the Ecclesiarchy for consideration of elevation to Sainthood. Shorty after the chaos tainted rebels were finally crushed by the forces of the Emperor, the Shrine of Katrina Lahr’rayne became the destination of many pilgrims seeking to see the site of the deliverance of Ho’vas Secundus and the undimmed beauty of “Katrina’s Defiance.”
