Hi guys. This is my first post on this forum so I thought I would share my Steel Legion army with you. She sits at over 6000 points of painted models. Since I took these pics I have added a few things ie. a demolisher, an officer of the fleet, I've based the valkyrie and I've also converted up a few melta gunners. I also recently bought another 6 sentinels to make the Armageddon Stompa Hunters formation. So without further ado, my Armageddon Steel Legion: I have some Sisters of Battle too but they literally wouldn't fit on my very detailed display (painting) table. I haven't finished painting the Fortress of Arrogance yet but I still thought he deserved a spot in the pic! My Company Command Squad with Lord Commissar, Medic and Master of Ordnance. My Techpriest and his Basilisks. My Stormtroopers and their Valkyrie. My converted Platoon Commander. My Marauder Destroyer and Lightning. (I haven't been game enough to put my Marauder on a stand) My rank of Chimeras. Some WIP Cadians that will be added to the force along with the Sisters to keep the Armageddon theme going.

Hi dazza22, A very impressive array of models! Great looking Army Some pictures without the flash would be good so we can see them in all their natural glory, but for now they look really nice, looking forward to seeing more. Cosmic

Also, I checked and saw that you're from Australia, you are lucky that you are far enough away that stealing above army would be too much of a hassle.... maybe....

There is a suprising lack if infantry there... Unless the squads shown are just PCS and CCS?

I have thought the same when looking at the first pic. There are actually 95 infantry models (counting the heavy weapons as two models) in that first pic though. I think they're overshadowed by all of the armour. I do like my tanks!

Oh yeah, Walrus, it's up to you to collect the DNA sample from dazza, since he's a fellow countryman of yours. But yeah, that's some seriously nice stuff you've got, dazza. How was the process of assembling the Marauder? I've built a Thunderbolt and it was fairly straightforward, but I'm guessing the Marauder is more complex?

@ Trooper One-Nine-Seven-Four: The Marauder was not actually that bad to put together. I did do it about 5 years ago but I don't seem to recall any major problems. The body is split into only two large sections which helps. The most annoying thing on the Marauder are the two tails. I keep accidently bumping them and eithier the vertical or horizontal parts fall off. It's not too hard to glue back on though. The Lightning was also quite straight forward to put together. I only had to straighten the warped autocannon. The Valkyrie in the picture is also resin and that was an absolute nightmare to put together. Maybe I ended up with a good Marauder or maybe it was a bad Valkyrie. @ majordowner: As requested, some pics of the Fortress of Arrogance. I took these photos a while ago before I started painting it. I have also made one or two small additions since these were taken (eg. adding rivets and covering up joins).

Hi dazza, yeah I've heard that the resin Valkyries are a nightmare to build. I got a hybrid Vulture kit a few months ago, and it was a dream to build--possibly the easiest to put together FW kit I've gotten. I'm definitely going to have to put even more thought into getting the Marauder... It looks like your Fortress of Arrogance build is pretty much spot-on to the one that the 'Eavy Metal team built. Great stuff!

Thanks. I tried to stick as closely to the studio's one as I could. I did however add the two banners and the speakers from the SoB vehicle sprue. The speakers are to transmit Yarrick's inspiring messages. I saw a pic of someone else's Fortress online and they had used Space Marine scopes as microphones. Great idea and I think I might blatantly steal it!

Echoing what one-nine-seven-four said, that is one impressive fortress of arrogance. looks almost like the one in the apocalypse book at a glance!
Overall, the army is well painted and very well built (especially the FW tanks), the camo you put on the tanks is different, but still recogniseable as steel legion due to the pattern of the stripes.

Lovely.
Something so appealing about a mass of armour and infantry. Especially when so nicely painted. Mind if I post that first picture on another forum i'm on? I'll give you credit, just love it so much!
