The mind-numbing part is that Kell costs more.

I just made mine out of plastic. Much more fun and less expensive.

If you buy it, it's your own fault.
Edit: Plastic Oldblood? This could be fun for some small-scale conversion work.

If you buy it, it's your own fault. Indeed. It's just beyond ridiculous that a set that cost $22 not so long ago has almost doubled in price... I thought the rationale for Finecast was to keep prices down? Anyway, this makes me glad that I don't collect new style Cadians, and that I decided to convert my own Catachan counts as versions of Creed and Kell out of spare bitz.

Who knows, if theyre new amazing sculpts I might be tempted.... If not then the plastic conversion option is obviously the way forward!

I wonder what they will do with the old metal creed & kell blisters. I doubt they will sell them off, but what could you do with them?

This is another good reason to go to fantasy. Things are usually much cheaper. Also it's nice the venomthrope finally got a model. They really needed it.

Well usually. Besides considering tanks and like 22-25 dollars for 10 infantry models i think fantasy is cheaper. Skaven are at old guardsmen prices 35 dollars for 20. If you get an island of blood set you get even more models for your money. Possibly the most models per dollar you can get in fantasy. Before finecast most metal fantasy models were 15 dollars or less including a lot of special character lords. Hell my new skaven warlord cost 13.25 USD when i got him. Of course finecast nuts costs more so yeah 15 dollars probably went up to 18.25 USD or something.

Fantasy works out extremely cheap if you buy Mantic, Perry, WGF or Warlord. Like sane people.

I probably would but i'd need to buy it online and currently i usually buy everything from stores. Not sure where the nearest hobby shop is and if its prices are lower than GW's.

Well not much really i suppose. I have issues with buying things that aren't meant for the store but glue and most supplies and the carrying case are big exceptions. I've always been recommended to get an army transport case from one site that was only about 20 USD on average at the time. There's really not much wrong with buying online but i don't have a credit card, i have a debit but it's for emergencies and then i just never really bought stuff online. It's some sort of nonsense issue where i've never done it before so i feel weird about going about it. It doesn't really make sense so don't ask. However i feel the no credit card is the main issue. Otherwise i'd buy stuff online regardless of where i was. Don't know how i feel about buying models secondhand though even if it's from a more trusted store. There was one place however that sold island of blood per each bit. Then again i may just get some more island of blood sets but i don't know if i can always find a high elf player to split it with.

I never thought I'd say this to you FKM, but I understand. I was also very leery of the prospect of buying my hobby stuff online, but let me assure you that in the last few years, the vast majority of my hobby equipment (beyond the glues, paints, knives and so on) has all come from online retailers. So give it a try. Hell, the great thing is that for the cost of one IoB set, I can build the infantry component of an entire human, dwarf or Orc army.

@rt: Well i'm pretty sure i'd still need a credit card though. If not then i'll be happy. I don't know how my half sister would feel about me buying stuff online. I should probably do it anyway as she's not the boss of me but once again after buying a new CPU for my computer funds are a bit tight. I basically really need a job for my hobby to go anywhere even if i got things for full price. I prefer to at least get the island of blood sets since you get 40 clanrats, 2 rat ogres, a warpfire thrower, a warlord, a warlock engineer and a poisoned wind mortar for about 50 dollars and this is considering you don't take some of the measuring sticks, small rulebook and dice. All things considered that's about the only really good deal GW has anymore. I mean the cost of clanrats is 35 dollars per 20 currently and weapons teams are usually about 15-18.25 now. Rat ogres are also expensive at about 40 dollars per 2 and they come with giant rats but it's kind of a waste. So really you can buy all this crap seperately and be down about 150 dollars or do the island of blood set route and get it for about 50. I'll see if i can't shop online eventually though. Like i said credit cards would be the main problem as i don't have one and i think that's what you have to use online.
